Yes,in MW2 especially when I get constantly killed by a guy I tend to make it my main objective to hunt him.

I take defeat as a weakness.

Oh Hell I even go and stand behind them with a live grenade in my hand till it explodes on both me and them. Even better when they see me right before it explodes and try to run.

I like to show them I could get up to them and kill them whenever I want.

I never "revenge kill" out of malice. If I ever do revenge kill its just to show that I can kill you to or to show that I can win sometimes (for the times where you kill me several times).

Yup. A bit. I'm not going to go out of my way to find my nemesis and kill them brutally, but I WILL chase them if I see them.

Not unless the person really pissed me off. For example, I was recently in a game of the original Halo (Custom Edition on PC) and killed this one guy with the Warthog's rocket launcher. He was probably around 12 or so anyway (though without a mike and headphones I was only able to read and type communication with him), and started moaning that I lacked skill because 'anyone can use rockets to kill'. Never mind that he was in cover, I was using a Warthog rocket launcher while someone was driving, my driver was pretty crap at driving, and we were going full speed up and over boulders and other obstacles, making aiming a complete nightmare. Not to mention the fact that the way the weapons in the first Halo game were designed, it does actually take skill to use weapons like the rocket launcher, if only because you need to actually hit the target or near it to score a direct kill, and there was plenty of scope here for me to miss completely.

Anyway, after I pointed all this out to him he started with the standard generic insults that I rarely hear on PC gaming like this, but sadly are too common in places such as Xbox Live. So then after he killed me once, using an actual cheap tactic (camping around a corner with a shotgun, if I recall correctly, which to be fair to the guy I've sometimes done myself in Halo in tight-space maps like Rat Race), I went out of my way to kill him about five more times, all in different ways, before pointing out my skill compared to his. The guy subsequently rage-quit while I received kudos from both my team and his for showing him what an idiot he was being.

Which is actually pretty good on Halo, on PC. Unlike the Xbox Live multiplayer, PC multiplayer seems to be (in my extensive experience, at least) much more friendly and open between people. There isn't the usual dearth of people calling each other 'fags' and insulting each others mommas that you get on XBL, instead people are prepared to just play the game and have fun on PC. Which is why I much prefer PC gaming to console multiplayer, though that's another story...

If I can boot, I will boot. If I can't boot, I go out of my way to kill that player. If I find a camper who kills me, I will throw myself at that camper until he lies dead at my hand. Nothing as satisfying as killing a camper as soon as he kills you ;)

Unless it's a special circumstance (teabagging, particularly noobie kill) I just wont care if they're on the other team.

I won't go out of my way because I can never tell the enemy apart from any game that's not a Halo no-team game. I just try to kill the first person I see and then gloat about it like I did get revenge :D

If they get me 3 or 4 times in a row so I notice their name, then I go after them and get killed 5 or 6 more times, then I get them, the sweet hollow victory it is.
thought i was the only one this happens to...but remember sweet hollow victory is just as good as regular sweet victory...as long as you don't think about all the details too much...

I do because it adds a much more personal element to the game which I think makes it more enjoyable.

Nothing is more satisfying than getting a revenge-kill with a shield-charge (as Demoman) over somebody who dominates you:

The "revenge-sound" plays, a crowd cheers (from the impact of the shield), and maybe Demoman will be gloating and the lifeless body of the foe is hurled around like a ragdoll.

That said: Well, i still don't let getting revenge get in the way of a game. The team is the most important. BUT if i can choose targets, i am going after the poor sod who called my fury down on him *g*.

I did once on COD4 when I was repeatedly knifed in the back by the same person. In general though I assume it was a mistake and let it go or I play games where team killing isn't possible (which is my preffered online option).

years ago me and my brother played runescape. i know laugh it up. but the first time he died ingame was at the hands of a highway man. from then on if he saw a highway man he would kill it to death and enjoy it. taking revenge on a npc.

Yes. In CoD:MF1 an enemy hit me with an RPG cause I walked by him. I was close to wear the end when another killed me with a bullet from an automatic weapon and killed me.

So I went back through the level, Blew the bastard that got me with the RPG away, then filled the other bastard with so many holes I emptied my three clips.

Satisfying.

Not revenge kill as such, my skill really doesn't allow me such pleasures. However, on Halo Reach if someone teabags me, i will teabag the shit out of them whether i get the kill or a team-mate does. I know it's childish, but i find something infuriating about getting teabaged, it puts a horrible taste in the mouth....
