Even if it had next to no hype, I'd dare say most gamer communities would be hella hyped. Not sure if you noticed, but The Elder Scrolls is a very popular series.
With that said: no.

I've been a fan of the series so far and love open world RPG's, especially when I can mod the hell out of them.

No, I don't think it has too much hype. People are getting excited about a game they want.

Pretty much tough shit for those that don't want to hear about it but lean in close I have the secret to removing your frustration ....... STOP READING THREADS ABOUT SKYRIM.

Follow that simple step and you will be Skyrim free. If you keep appearing in Skyrim threads claiming to be "sick of hearing about it" i'm going to assume you are lying and secretly have your hands down your pants playing with yourself while imagining creating your character.

nnnnnnnnnnnnNO.
No.
NO!
Bad!
Bad OP!
How dare you? -.-
It needs MOAR HYPE!

But seriously, I think it's looking like a 90%+ game, so in my books, any amount of hype is good enough for it.

No, it's fucking Skyrim. It's like Oblivion but improved and streamlined in basically every way, with dragons.

I think it is a bit overhyped but that said I am very excited for the game especially if they have considered the best of Morrowind and Oblivion. Fallout 3 showed that they had come some way with how they think about gameplay and exploration since Oblivion. So hopefully Skyrim will be a big improvement.

I think there can't be enough hype until we build a shrine to it in Jerusalem. Just saying.

Well if you haven't played and previous Elder Scrolls games or if you have and you didn't like them then of course you're gonna think that Skyrim is being over-hyped.

As for me...I say nay. It needs more. MUCH MORE o_O

Hype is just being excited about a game. You're a real dick if you have a problem with people having something to look forward to. So no, not too much hype.

No.

Hype is when you get excited for promises a game might have, as opposed to what the game is actually like.

Honestly, I would have been satisfied with a graphically better Oblivion, but the changes that they've made and the additions that they've added to the game are simply amazing.

The dragons, the dual wielding, taking out the pointless outdated RPG bullshit, and the new overview of stats. There's even a new feel to this game, where it seems like they've progressed a little further beyond the typical elves and myths, and actually made the different races seem like new creatures with a different background. The Elves seem more like Indians this time around, and the Nords look more like Vikings.

There's absolutely no way I won't like this game. I even have the feeling this will be my favorite game of all time.

Nah, I don't think so.

It looks like it's going to be really good. I'm pretty sure it can live up to the hype.

I'm a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series and I have been really anticipating the release. However, as a fan, I do think it's been getting a little too much hype around it. It might just be within the Elder Scrolls community though. It just depends on whether you think something like...being on the side of a building is too much hype or not. (Spoiler'd for size)

The Hype is just at the right amount right now. We are inching closer to release and the river of information is steady enough to keep you looking forward to it, and shallow enough so you don't get overwhelmed with information.

What an obvious typo. You clearly must have meant "Do you think Skyrim has to munch hype"; 'much' simply cannot be used as a verb.

But it's actually an interesting question. Skyrim is still a pretty good ways out, but so far, most of the buzz surrounding the game has been produced by the series' own reputation and familiarity with gamers. The studio themselves hasn't, so far, gone on any great marketing bent like a lot of other AAA titles like to do, but it still has managed to become one of the most anticipated titles of the near future.

So, to answer your question, yes, I think Skyrim will simply have to 'munch' its own hype, as it were; hype is always a double-edged sword, but Bethesda seems pretty confident so far that they can live up to the gamers' expectations, so rather than downplay it or try and artificially add to it and risk messing up a good thing, the people at Bethesda would be wisest to simply feed off of the natural anticipation their previous installments and current development news has blessed them with.

Or, as the OP might put it, to simply 'much [sic] it down.' A rather thoughtful perspective; thanks, OP!

Yes. It looks like a slightly better version of Oblivion, which, quite frankly, was mediocre at best.
Your opinion is mediocre a best.
OT: No it will be the awesome and probably win a few GOTY awards.
Why will it do this? Because Bethesda's last 3 games were all GOTY caliber.
