Also MASH was really good, a friend bought the DVD sets and we've been watching it recently.

Doctor Who is by far the best. And it counts because he is THE Doctor. And I know people will hate me for this but I think Tennant was one of the best doctors they have had. The show, when done right, is whitty and funny and silly and smart and dramatic all at once. Its just good TV.

Other than that Scrubs is OK for a dumb laugh and the characters are surprisingly more real than in shows like House. J.D. May be a rather pathetic man child but at least he responds to it in a real way as do his friends. They seem human for what its worth. I don't need to watch house as I have a five year old brother whos a bit spoiled so I get the same experience.

YES! Doctor Who is the one and only doctor. I mean cmon, he's been around for forever

I like both House and Scrubs, but seriously, how can you compare the two?
One's a drama, with the emphasis (supposedly) on realism, whereas the other is a comedy show that just happens to be set in a hospital...
Going on characters, it'd be House (the only character able to stand up to him would be Dr. Cox from Scrubs, but even then it wouldn't last too long).
I've never really watched the others, but can't stand what I saw of Grey's Anatomy...

Nope, don't hate ya. In fact, completely agree. Tennant was THE best actor to fill the Who role.

As for the topic at hand, I'm gonna have to go with House. Scrubs is funny, in a stupid, goofy kind of way, but House is just exquisite dramatic writing. (and I think the acting performances are better as well) I've been hooked on House since the fist episode.

House is so forced, I can't stand it. The characters are all so fucking boring.
Scrubs FTW, JD may be an effeminate man child but he's funny as hell. Scrubs has the most interesting characters in a "medical" show that I have ever seen. And House doesn't have an a capella band does it? No.

House took a dive into shit zone when it took a TubGirl sized shit over elaborate and nuanced story telling and went straight for Grey's Anatomy imitation in mid- and late- 3rd seasons. But House M.D., I wholeheartedly believe and support with a hardened soul for literary deconstruction is the only true contender amongst the bunch. Scrubs is the Aristophane to House's Sophocles. While E.R. and Grey's Anatomy build up what would equal a Bangkok sex-show with visiting Tijuana performers.

Thank you! I was going to whine about nobody mentioning Becker if I didn't see it before I got to the end.

But from the list, I say Scrubs. Never really got into house or any of the other Dr shows. Scrubs caught me with light, easy to get humour. I like a comedy I don't have to think about too hard. Scrubs is good for a cheap laugh, and the slapstick comedy is awesome.

scrubs is at least funny although the 'dramatic' parts are pretty weak. Most medical professionals i know say it's much more realistic than house and grey's

House is boring to me My fiance keeps making me watch it insisting its a good show, but I think that most people wouldn't put up with house and fire his ass. And most of the 'mysteries' if you've ever watched the show with an actual doctor (or even a dentist as I have) aren't all that mysterious. They just work on the fact most people have very little medical knowledge.
"grace ananimy" another one the ball'n'chain has me watch. I have to read a book instead I hate this show so much. It's a damn soap opera... I don't watch Soaps.

Scrubs. Like Friends but in a hospital. But comparing it to House is like comparing The Dark Knight to the original campy Batman series (almost). They're completely different. I still watch Scrubs on E4 but I've grown rather bored with House.

Unfortunately Green Wing was only on for two seasons, but they tied it all up. If you haven't seen them all, then you MUST! The first season is a tad better then the second one though.
