A glass of wine a week won't do anything to a child. However saying that, I wouldn't want my partner drinking whilst pregnant...
I give myself too much credit; I'm not as clever as I think I am.Anarchemitis said:You spell bad? That's unpossible!dagens24 said:My mom drank while I was in womb and I turd out justin fine.
As it stands, I actively avoid consuming alcohols (methanol, ethanol, pentanol, Hexadecan-1-ol etc.), because of a negative preference. Then again, I also must have this opinion modulated against the fact that I am a dude and therefore cannot bear children directly.

And, when I do have kids I'll probably take a 9mo. hiatus from Alcohol in the house since it would be fair to my significant other if I were kicking back with a beer every night.
While i don't advocate drinking while pregnant at all i do think calling alcohol a poison is a bit far. If you are going to use that definition of the word (Any substance that can impair function, cause structural damage, or otherwise injure the body) then you might as well include oxygen.ravensheart18 said:I think it is abuse to deliberately introduce any poison to your system when you are pregnant (and yes, alcohol is a poison).

True, but you drink alcohol with the INTENTION of causing the impaired functioning of your body. You don't intend to inhale free radicals or pollutants when breathing, it's breath or die. Plus, there's a reason it's called "alcohol poisoning", just because you haven't reached that point after 5 shots and beers doesn't mean the damage isn't already being done.x EvilErmine x said:While i don't advocate drinking while pregnant at all i do think calling alcohol a poison is a bit far. I think you mean 'high iron content', which is true for all stouts.Susurrus said:Guiness and Red wine have both been shown to be beneficial for women (and babies) during pregnancy - Guiness particularly because of the high alcohol content.
