I got it at the 4th time, but I'm being honest when I say that I still drive exactly as good as on my first attempt.
Luck is just as important as your driving skills on those tests. (at least where I live)

It's funny that this thread should happen today. For, you see, If I weren't lazy I could've taken my test and gotten my licence today (in Florida you have to have your permit for 1 year)
Wow, coincidence, I think not... That's interesting, does that mean you can't get a full licence before then?
Only if you're underaged. Once you hit 18 you're free to take the test, and (assuming you pass) your licence

I passed on the first try. Drivers Ed was manditory where I live, so that helped a lot. As did the manditory 6 months with just a learner's permit. Still, from what I understand tests here in America where I live are a lot easier than tests in some other countries, so if you live in another country then the test you have to take might be more challenging.

Passed it first try. Although I had my learners permit for 6 months prior and I went through Driver's ed. So it was really easy for me. Fun fact I took my drivers test in a full size pickup. I had to help the Instructor get into it was so high. And I could barely see the cones in any of my mirrors.

Only took me one try the only thing I had to do was drive down the street, parallel park, and then drive back up the street to the registry.

Funny story. It took me once but I almost failed it. I did 40 through a school zone where the speed was reduced to 25. The sign says something like "25mph 730-530 on school days". School was out that day (it was a Friday by the way) for various reasons. He wanted to fail me because I was speeding, through a school zone no less. I told him school was out today. After five minutes of "arguing" he was impressed with my knowledge of the local school district he passed me.

I passed on my second attempt. Should have passed on the first, but the tester I got wanted a bribe. Natch, I didn't pay... natch, I failed. Passed with a nearly perfect score on the second test a week later. Interestingly enough, the first tester was suspended and then fired for corruption. Hahahahahahahaha!

I failed first time, did an immaculate turn in the road, and was so full of myself when i came to the next junction that i didn't look properly and the examiner had to slam the breaks on. He gave me a horrible look which is now burned onto my memory for life. I've got my 2nd attempt coming up in a few weeks, unfortunatly it's at another test centre so the roads are all different...

Passed my motorcycle test on my first attempt with 7 points against. 2 were from being less than 2 seconds too slow on two courses and 5 from passing the box during an emergency brake. That was because it had very recently started raining VERY hard and the reflection from the ground made it so I couldn't see the chalk and used the old cone box we were practicing on prior as the marker without realizing they didn't move them forward ;)

I think you are allowed 11 points against for that paticular test.

I just took my drivers permit test, which took me 4 times to get.

And thank fucking god for that...

For my drivers test, however, I predict that it will take me 3 tries because of all the details that I will most likely ignore.

4 attempts. Each time, I scored worse and worse, until I took it in my Dad's car. I then scored a perfect, got complimented on my driving skills by the instructor (and this was the guy who failed me the first time), and have since not driven at all.

By the way, I hate driving.

I passed first time which was a surprise to me. I hate driving. Selling my car now so it was pretty pointless in the long run, but I might buy a motorbike as parking in Cambridge is ridiculous.

1st time, 5 minors. Which surprised both me and my driving instructor. His jaw actually dropped when he heard I'd passed - he was all worried I'd screw up his first-time streak (which I brought up to 10)

Congratulations OP!

I had the same exact thing happen to me during my bike test, it was a lovely day, then the second I got on my bike there were hailstones. Still passed it, though I did have to do a real emergency stop when a van pulled out in front of me. Scary stuff, still, it reminds me to always be on guard.

Also I passed my car test second time.

1 time.
Though i didn't do a "Driving" exam as i went through Drivers ED, which had a lot of driving already.

It was just a pretty long test, i passed it at about 75% correct.
LOL I passed the test with the same score.

Passed 1st time.
7 minors and my invigilator person was a bit harsh in my opinion, but it doesn't matter anyway!

I just got my permit last week on my first try. Taking the test was agonizing. I was so afraid I wouldn't pass. The test was easy. Driving is hard.
