Thanks for your advice, everyone. I'm going to grab a copy of Timesplitters tomorrow after work, since I've never even tried it before.

Also, sorry to ghey up your board like this. I just always noticed that you guys are incredibly polite for a forum and probably wouldn't crucify me for admitting to being bummed out.
Hey, we're all human here. At least, I think we all are. Anyway, everyone has their bad days or down points in life, and if no one can take the time to offer a helping hand, where's the human race gonna go?

I recommend the opposite, I was feeling really bummed out last week, then I bought The Maw... the overload of bright colors and cute fuzzy creatures being devoured mercilessly by a purple blob with razor sharp teeth made me feel better pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, the game is pretty short, so if it doesn't work, have several backup plans.

I recommend having a crack at the old Red Faction games on the PS2 if you can find them. they're always good for a luagh. especially the first one with complete Geo-modability. you can use the grenade launcher or satchel charges to dig tunnels around doors and shit like that. "What? insert red key? balls to that, i'll make my own door!"

i also recommend Falout 3

Thanks everyone for your advice. I've got a Notepad document that is crammed full of suggestions for stuff to do, so in a couple days I'm going to be ass-deep in entertainment.

Thanks a lot, you guys. You're alright.

EDIT - as proof of my thanks, please be directed to the links I have provided for a special present.

Fallout 3
Oblivion (elder scrolls or Morrowind)
Dawn of Wars
The Founding and the Saint by Dan Abnett, if you like WH4oK sci-fi
Terry Pratchett if you've ever used words
Watchmen if you like Graphic novels
The godfather (2nd one is coming out soon and it's a fun game, maybe rent it first)
armor games, miniclip games, addicting-games, tower defense.net (type into google, the actual site that comes up when you type that sucks)
Guitar hero and booze

That's all I got, but if there's nothing you like on that list the sun will implode, to be replaced by a giant wtf?.

Although this will sound awfully misanthropic, I think it's just the fact that you directly admitted to be going through an emo phase, which of course is perfectly natural if you've been dumped or are going through tough times altogether, but what I'm saying is that you should have expected something of a bashing if you had implied it instead of just saying it directly.
I support you, that's a certain, because I got badly dumped last V-day, and of course, whent through bad times, and I know how it feels, but just know that people in these forums, whilst do tending to be more educated or pretend to be at most, would've taken the course of action I mentioned earlier. So be careful with your words, or people can hurt you even further.

I apologize if I misrepresented what's going on. Never once did I mean to imply that I'm dyeing my hair black, wearing The Cure shirts and/or slicing at my arms. In my vernacular, "emo" has always just represented when you're all mopey and sad.

So, to clarify: I am currently wearing jeans and a Black Sabbath shirt, my arms are bare (no lame lady-at-the-opera arm-warmer things for me) and I am currently cut-free. Also, that poem I wrote was a joke, and at no point do I plan to release a best-selling pop-rock album about how bad my life is going. Although, to be fair, I might rescind that last depending on how much money is involved.

Hey, no problem man, it means the same to my vernacular, and frankly, even if you were dyeing your hair black (which I doubt) my previous argument would still hold. It's just the fact that people are only mean whilst you don't admit to being something. Just to clarify, I didn't see the poem either, just your initial post and the one were you thank some mister about escapist people being polite, and I thought it would be appropiate to point out a little truth. Besides, if you're interested in releasing a pop rock album, and even though I'm a much more Black Sabbath person too, I can play guitar (just started a week ago, but trust me I'm good xD) and I am all up for the moneyzzzzz.

What kind of guitar do you play? I've been playing for about a year and a half, and have a Cherry Sunburst Epiphone Les Paul and a Squire Telecaster.

Also, learn the rhythm section to Rocky Mountain Way and we have a deal.

And for what I'm seeing after going through the thread, some people can be rather disgusting and fully peltedly take joy in the misery and suffering of others, just because they've been lucky enough to not go through something of the kind, of because God has blessed them with the shallow mindedness to not give a shit about their problems.

I play electric, and have got a Squire Strato (pure classic) and I hope to be getting an Xplorer soon (don't know the brand, which can be dodgy, but hey, it's free, so pretty fucking sweet)

Let me find the tab to it, and you've got a deal :p

Oh yeah, and before I forget, if you like good RPGs, then you might be interested in downloading an emulator for GBA in your computer, and downloading the ROM for Golden Sun, both one and two. The history of Golden Sun is the history of shamelessly underappreciated gems. They were so damn good, and I guarantee, they'll last ages, even if you're in them for the main quest and never care about all the sidetracks (which of course add a hell of an entertainment value)

If you like strategy titles, I am really getting sucked in by the new Empire: Total War. The hours just fly. A big improvement for the series.

I feel for you man. Only time makes it better, although I know how little consolation that is when it's you.
I totally forgot about the Total War series. I lost months of my life to Medieval II, so I will definitely grab that too. Just gotta wait for my new PC to get here.

Also, thanks for the regards. I appreciate it a lot.
Concurred. I am currently losing out on valuable time that could be spent playing Empire Total War, owing to the fact that I must satisfy my Medieval II cravings.

Failing that, play Fallout 3.

Since the Great Dumping, I've been spending my time finishing my second playthrough of Mass Effect, playing as a melee character in Fallout 3 (harder than I thought), playing Afro Samurai (actually, contrary to what you hear, it's a mature, intellectual, stupidly gory brawler with some truly amazing voice acting and music), along with assorted PC-based addictions, namely Escape Velocity Nova and Worms Armageddon.

Sadly, my Medieval II discs are MIA. D:

Also, remember what I said about the voice acting in Afro Samurai? Quote following (do not read if you're easily offended)

Ninja Ninja: "If every girl I stuck my dick in died three hours later, I'd put that shit on my resume! But would that go under 'Skills' or 'Other Interests'?"

Made me laugh. Such crassness is rare in a game, and it's surprising to say the least.

Watch "Grave of the Fireflies" until you cry, there's nothing like submerging yourself in a greater tragedy to put your own in perspective... just make sure you put all sharp objects well out of reach first.

Oh, and try downloading a free game called, "Battle for Wesnoth". Not cutting edge or anything, but its a free turn-based strategy game that I quite enjoy when I'm feeling out of sorts.

I know this isn't a game but take up a sport, anything to get you out of the house, running and having the wind blow through your hair is something that's great to feel, it also reminds you that you're free now, you can do whatever you want.

I started Parkour when my ex broke up with me, I'm nearing 8 months come March 11th and haven't looked back since, well until my ex managed to come back into my life recently but that's another story lol.
