My avatar is from a game, Kingdom Hearts to be exact.

Zexion, rank VI in Organization XIII. The Cloaked Schemer and master of illusions. Also receives the cheapest, unfairest death in the series.

I honestly don't know where mines from... I just found it and liked it...

Actually, now I'm wondering... Anyone know what my Avatar is?
It actually looks like the doctor from Soul Eater. The little thing that's on the side of his head is probably the screw he has in it.
I believe it's Colonel Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist. He has flint on his gloves to create a spark, as he has the ability to manipulate fire. He's about to snap his fingers.

Well technically I could have said Movies for mine, but since my avatar is a portion of the cover art for a Star Wars novel, rather than from one of the films, and my user name and custom title both reference a character who's only in Star Wars books, not the movies, Books seemed like the way to go.

Other.

It's based off an avatar competition for the web comic called Stupid Fox on Deviantart.
I changed it on a whim and now everyone I know recognises it much more than my old one.

Gaming and Anime, mostly.

Although I'm seriously considering changing it to something...non-Pokemon related.
What a twist!

OT: Well, my current avatar is from Cowboy Bebop. So, that would make it anime-related.

Well, mine is an F-15 launching a sidewinder missile. It stems from my love of aerial combat, especially modern jet fighters, of which the F-15 is my favorite active multi-role fighter. But it could also be considered related to gaming, since I chose my screen name and avatar to reflect my love of flying games. (On both HAWX and HAWX 2 my callsign is Spade.)

I think he was remiss in not having a military option, but that may just be me...

Book cover. Written by Ralph Nader about car safety.

But if people don't know that, it's still a cool avatar simply for what it says.
