Wait a minute...he thinks there's no way to explain how the Sun rises, the Earth was formed, tides work and how the moon got there?

Hurrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh.

Lobotomies all round for the Fox news crew.

Not being american, I'm sure the only times I've seen stuff from Fox news must have been from their worst moments, but from what I've seen I opted for "they need to burn in hell".
I have a terrible suspicion that what we hope are the worst moments are actually quite average.

Also burning Murdoch in hell is a little pointless, it's just sending him home.

For every Rush Limbaugh, there is a Michael Moore.
Out of pure non-confrontational curiosity, why do people hate Michael Moore?

Immediately after leaving the military, I loved them. As time went on and the cognitive dissonance grew to large to ignore, I watched them less and less. Right now, it hurts to even think I once took what the opinion side (and I can't rightly point to the fact side, another thorn) as gospel rather than treating it with the many grains of salt I do with practically everything else nowadays. Due to my subscriptions I still end up seeing Red Eye (an obvious tabloid show though somewhat entertaining) and Judge Napolitano and Stossel (the only ones on Fox worth the time to listen to and even then you should question what you're viewing).

Bill O'Reilly? Guy lost me before the rest of Fox did, via his radio show (does it still exist?). Glenn Beck? I think he was better before he went mad, also STOP CALLING YOURSELF A LIBERTARIAN YOU FING MOUTHBREATHER!

Where's the "The only good they go is to serve as canon fodder for Jon Stewart" option?

I don't think anyone's going to flame you, mostly because you're completely right. Thing is, were your counterpart on the left to say the same thing, they'd be completely right too. Taking things out of context is just what the political news system does down there.

It's just more fun/fashionable to pick on Fox.

As far as I'm concerned about 60% of Fox News can go straight to hell. Alot of it is ok, I mean the local news segments are usually fine in terms of reporting the news. However it seems when ever the sun goes down all the people in charge simultaneously receive massive brain damage and decide wheel out Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly and every other paranoid jack ass they got working for them.

In addition to everything else, this is a pretty good reason for me to despise them as well.

Ok, I'm pretty open about my opinions on Fox, that they should be stripped of the title 'news' and however they got allowed to use 'fair and balanced' as a tagline, when most Fox articles are as fair as Mike Tyson against Justin Bieber...in a sack.

However, that's not the main problem, as was mentioned earlier, the main problem is Murdoch, the owner, and the owner of SO, so much of world news, in terms of TV stations, radio, newspapers, etc.Far too many people pretty much take news reporting as facts being delivered to them, and Murdoch can pretty much tell people how to vote, who to hate, etc, and the more he buys, the more power over the world he has.

He's essentially found a non violent way to become that evil genius living in a volcano with a shark tank. OF course, all he does is rile people up to commit the violence for him.

I was suprised to do some research and find out that the Daily Mail isn't in fact one of his.
He 'only' owns the Sun and the Times.

I think all we can hope for is that TV news rapidly finds itself in the position of paper news, a dying format with little money or respect. Unfortunatley, Murdoch knows people, and when it suits him to pander to people's small mindedness and xenophobia, he'll happily print it to sell more.

Personally I feel the escapist is more balanced than Fox could ever be. At least they allow comments that don't agree with their own mindset.

In a community as far from the far right end of the political spectrum as this, you could replace "Fox News" with "Hitler" and the poll results wouldn't be much more negative.

There are some downright stupid things, like everything that comes out of Glen Becks mouth. The rest of it I would be fine with if they stopped pretending to be a news agency, and just admitted that they are a right wing look at the news. Stop pretending you're balanced, and then I will simply disagree with you vigorously. As it is, you are an insult to journalism.

Considering the sheer amount of evil, ignorant fearmongering Fox does about all things awesome, I hate them. Considering Fox itself also canceled Firefly and Blomkamp's Halo film, I hate them with a fiery burning passion.

This is a response to Raiyan 1.0's question about Michael Moore hate.

I think for most it's due to him being on the other side of the aisle. From my side, I think he purposely makes things look one way in his documentaries that make no logical sense. Example: In "Bowling for Columbine", he made it look like all you needed to get a gun at that one bank was open an account when:
1. The bank in question, like all others, is attached to the Federal Reserve and
2. Was therefore unlikely to violate the whole federal mandated waiting period used to check the background of the individual in question before handing out a firearm.

Then there was the accusations that the NRA was the KKK without the robes when the history surrounding the time frame shows black chapters of the NRA, using guns to defend themselves against the KKK.

There was the accusation that the NRA pushed to get a gun show immediately after Columbine when those things are scheduled sometimes years in advance. And his rather shoddy treatment of Charlton Heston, who has a history of standing up against racism and was active in the Civil Rights Movement.

Mind you, my thoughts and opinion on Moore come from the "Bowling for Columbine".

I find it impossible to hate it, simply because I don't hate stuff that is popular to hate.

Also, I've never watched it.

I'm not American and I hate them with passion. I hate their stupid reporters and their idiotic Christian agendas and those morons O'Riley and Beck. I would kill them all myself and wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over it. Their stupidity knows no boundaries and I have 0 tolerance for stupid people.

Comedy Central is reliable. And CNN can always be relied on to be the least biased but incompetent.

Fox News is the epitome of bigotry, ignorance, and misinformation. I can't believe my father worships them for fucks sake.

Atheist Libertarian by the way.

EDIT: I love The Colbert Report and The Daily Show, infinitely more accurate than Fox.

Look, I'm fine with some of fox news reporting. Yes, they have an obvious bias. So does EVERYTHING else. That said, I completely ignore their video game news group, which needs to get a new brain cell, their only one is wearing away fast.
Custer's Revenge was (thankfully) a LONG time ago. Let's move on, Fox video game division.
It's like Rush Limbaugh. He's not the devil people think he is, if you take the time to read his work, he is not nearly as crazy as EVERYTHING makes him out to be.
Fox isn't the best, but they are by far not the worst.
For any news outlet, you should double check stories. I trust very little without multiple sources, and I like comparing viewpoints between Fox, NBC, and CNN.
*makes mental note to avoid quote messages in the inbox for a while
Ugh. Just opened myself to a shit storm here, didn't I?
What? It's completely true!

I refuse to watch/tune in to Glenn Beck/Rush Limbaugh on principle, because it's WAY too easy to say stuff you'll regret later. I've read a book from each, and while they're a bit paranoid (as if the other side isn't), they make a decent amount of sense on paper.

My thoughts?

Well, I've seen Glenn Beck tell a woman that euthanasia is where the government elects to kill you if you're too much of a financial burden, and I've seen Bill O'Reilly categorically state that Stephen Hawking (he actually kept calling him Hawkings) has no explanation for the moon or the tides.

Their biggest and "best" are a bunch of manipulative morons (or geniuses, depending on how you look at it) who receive viewing figures they probably sold their souls to the devil for.

Glenn Beck even blames the Jews for Jesus' death for fuck's sake.

Don't even get me started on that fucking chalk board of his.
Wait wait wait... Jesus was jewish...
Yes well, we know that. I couldn't give a flying shit about religion, I still no the bloody basics - the guy's just anti-semetic and has delusions about Christianity, but then you'd have to if you thought the moral of the Bible (apart from all the murder, incest and whatever else) was to treat everyone else like shit because they're poorer than you.
If I remember correctly, he was killed by Jews. Their religious leaders wanted him dead because he criticized them harshly and he was undermining their power (although Judas betrayed him for different reasons).
