I would probably do it, and then maybe try to avenge those people by joining Brad Pitt and his homies.

I would have refused the second they tried to conscript me. I don't even care if its a fascist country or not, if my country ever tried to make me joint the armed forces they'd leave with fewer soldiers then they came out with.
Why bother waiting until thing get that bad, i'd say fight from the beginning.

Every solider has his target. If he misses, the commanding officer walks over and watches you fire a second time. Miss the second time, you are dead.

Well, I'd think of the other guys on the firing squad. Do they look eager, or horrified? Do I know them?

If I know 'em, and they all look angry or disgusted, I'd shoot the NCO and start a rebellion.
