Poll: Glasses-wearing escapists! How do you adjust them when they start slipping?

I push up on the bridge. So often, in fact, that I catch myself going through the motion when I'm wearing contacts. Makes me feel like a moron.

Most times it's the index finger to the bridge, but I have very good control of the muscles around my nose & ears & I can reset my glasses without even touching them. Yes I am a freak & I'm proud of it.

When my specs had ear pieces, I'd do that too (use the fact that I can move my ears to pull on the ear pieces back up my nose). These days I can still do it, just not as well, because my glasses just clip to the sides of my head.

Sweet, that's gotta be some type of super power we have or something...

I know a guy who just smudges his finger directly onto the lens to push them up, though.

When I had glasses, I would use my thumb and index finger to pinch a corner and move the frames back when they were slipping.
Now, I have contact lenses. Life is good.

Index finger and thumb on the outside of the right lens. Unless I'm working or concentrating then it's a finger to the bridge.

I use my shoulder; a habit that started when I was either typing or playing games and had no hands free.
Whenever I do it subconsciously, though, I just grab the corner or push the bridge, either is fine.

Depends on what I am doing or how I am sat.

For example, if I am feeling lazy I can nudge them up a teeny bit by just moving my ears. I also stood on my glasses a few months ago so the frame is a little out of sorts, so the left arm has to sit 1cm above my ear or my glasses are tilted, so when I adjust my glasses I take the opportunity to push them up as well.

If I am playing a game I can use my right shoulder to push the bottom of the lens up, sure I look a bit special when I do it but it works.

Really, I do 1 of 2 different things. I either push them up with 1 finger on the bridge or 2 fingers and put them up by the sides.

Careful with using your middle finger to push up your glasses. One very, very overly dramatic teacher took it as me subtly giving her the finger.

That happened to me once. After a 2 minute argument/shouting contest I just flipped him off for real, coz I'll be damned if I get send to the principal for something I didn't do!

OT: Usually push it up at the bridge, but sometimes I'll use the edge of the desk or something like that. Usually when sitting awkwardly.
At work I tend to use the back of my hand/wrist to push the bridge, because dirty glove fingertips.

Either index finger of left hand or middle finger of right hand, depending on which hand happen to be free. But generally with right.

Has any glasses wearer tried to re-enact the scary shiny glasses anime trope? I'm just curious as to if in certain lighting conditions it can be pulled off.

you shouldn't really grab one side of your glasses, even when picking them up you should grab both sides simultaneously.
It creates excess pressure from the hinge through the frame. After a year of doing this several times a day they will get bent, go wonky or break.

I always used to have problems with screws coming loose, glasses being misaligned before. Not anymore

I just ask my optometrist to tighten them securely so it doesn't happen at all.

OT: When I'm wearing sunglasses, I would just grab them by the edges and adjust them that way.

For me it varies. Sometimes I use my forefinger on my left hand to bump up my glasses from beneath the lense until it feels alright other times I might use my thumb and forefinger to adjust it's position. I also sometimes just push them up with the bridge. Glasses, why you so slippery?

I push up on the bridge. if they fee off center I adjust them from the sides (usually at the hinge). youre actually not supposed to put stress on the sides, so i try to stay away from touching them as much as possible

I use my left index finger to push them back up with the bridge mostly. Sometimes, I shove them up with my whole hand with clothing over them if I'm in some rush or flustered.

Or to simply combat the problem for a day, I wear contacts.
