I'm pretty sure that the Swine Flu debuff was out with WOTLK
So they can remove it or rename it but they really don't have to.

I know the corrupted blood epidemic on WOW is studied by scientist to see how pandemics spread so maybe they are a bit insensitive but it's their game.

that spell has been there all the time. theres nothing wrong with it. its just a coincedence that there would come a real-life disease of the same name.

it's good they put that, they should also put nuclear holocaust .. i fucking hate wow
Swine Flu and a nuclear holocaust are two drastically different things. Do you have an issue with Fallout 3 because of that? Do you have an issue with movies that deal with the idea of a nuclear holocaust?

Nuclear holocaust: man made, absolute disaster, probably will end the world if it ever happened.

Swine Flu: a naturally occuring disease that nowadays is nothing more than a slightly-more-dangerous flu. In case you didn't notice, no one is worried about it anymore.

So, you fucking hate WoW? Fine. I fucking hate trolls that pull things out of their asses to try and make something look bad.
dude .. i was just saying that swine flu is not enough, they should make a nuclear holocaust.. they have nothing to do with each other, i am saying that they should kill everyone.. and you are apparently very irritated about this, probably another fat american
First off, you made it seem like you were blowing the Swine Flu thing way out of porportion. I misread it, and I apologize.

Second, just because you don't like a game doesn't mean that they should end the game.

Third, another fat American? Really? Get out of here, you fucking biggot. We don't need people like you throwing out insults like that. Reported.
well, you called me a troll for no apparent reason .. and i called you a fat american in response which makes you feel bad or something [i hate all americans, i am sorry]
Hey it's OK to hate all Americans because they are Rome and you, depending on where you live, you're Gaul and or Carthage so enjoy the chains as they decide your future for you. Buhahahahahaha!

What I want to know is why no one has picked up on this and used it to bash video games yet. This seems like the kind of thing our good fiend Jack Thompson would be all over.

Blizzard has all the money in the world and they're aloud to do whatever they want.

Actually, one of the first swine flu outbreaks was in 1918, I think.

Also, it's not insensitive. OH MY GOD, 787 people could possibly, maybe be offended by something they most likely won't hear about!
seconded. It's being blown way out of proportion.

From what I read in the paper, the results of this 'world wide epidemic' were ONE death outside Mexico.

So of course the headline in the paper to lead this fact was

'SWINE FLU MAY TOP 1918 DEATH TOLL OF 50 MILLION!'
So, yes its funny, and its funnier that people are flipping out.

I've had flu and sure, it floors you and you ain't getting outta bed for a few days, but damn, its not exactly cancer.

*Waits for FOX News to pin the outbreak on Obama*

It's not new, Blizzard did it first.
yah, mother nature is totally last year.
No, meaning that it was there before all the current hoo-hah about it in the news. Kind of like how games or films that have the Twin Towers in them have had them before the towers were destroyed, not that they came up with it or anything.

Considering that the boars were doing this before real-life humans began to come down with the piggy sniffles (or H1N1 or whatever they're calling it now), I don't really see what the problem is. Kudos, actually, to Blizzard for being so prescient, I guess.
