Well, I never pre-ordered it anyways, so there was no need to cancel. But no, I haven't bought it yet, nor do I plan to. I've got plenty of other excellent games to occupy my time.

I didn't pre-order it... I wasn't that interested in it even before the dedicated server fiasco. I also have no plans on buying it new, but I might buy it used (unless they change their minds, then I'll buy it new. Heck, I might even buy it for the full price if they change their minds). I can wait... I waited a long time before I bought the first game. I bought it only a couple of months ago.

Haven't bought it so far but it's early days yet. I might crack eventually. Since I've been pretty adament that I wouldn't be buying it since way back when the price was increased I think it's not too likely though.

I have been surfing through a lot of the MW2 threads, most of them about the growing number of problems to the already huge list for the PC version. I also enjoyed the thread about the guy who sent his money to DICE instead of MW2. In most of these threads, I kept hearing about people saying that they would cancel their order of the PC version or switch the money to a different game.

So I have a question for you PC gamers, did you honestly cancel or switch your order of the PC MW2?
Didn't order but went shopping today with no luck, angry people on the net don't actually add up to much the PC version sold out along side the consoles but then again for some reason PC gamimg seems a lot more alive in Europe than the US

I didn't cancel my pre-order, I just ignored picking it up.
As I wrote in another thread.

I will pick up MW2 as soon as IW acknowledge that they need modders and start listening to their PC-community. The people who helped them get to where they are now.

I did.
Since the single player is only 4~5 hours, I'm not even going to pirate it. If a game takes more time for me to pirate than to play, then it's not worth my time to pirate.

(Just kidding. I don't pirate games.)
Afraid the FBI might read this thread and illegally use that as grounds to search your computer?

Ah paranoia, you are so much fun
I'm in Canada. FBI has no jurisdiction here, and CSIS doesn't seem to care much.
:D
you only think they don't but the FBI hasn't cared about jurisdiction in the past so maybe you'll get a special case and an a express ticket to USA in the trunk of a car :)

I bought Borderlands and Dragon age: origins with the money I had planned to use on MW2. We'll see if I even bother to buy it. I'm fed up with infinity ward's PC hatered.

After seeing the reviews on the game (from people who actually played the PC version), I think I'll direct my funds towards more worthwhile venues. Bad Company 2, here I come.

I've already finished my torrent, and was not impressed.

Single Player is the only good thing, and for that much money JUST for single player? Not fucking worth it.

Exscuse me while I go play some QUALITY online FPS.. *Goes off to COD4,BF2, L4D, and TF2* All I need right here...

Strange considering piracy isn't actually illegal it only matters if the owner sues you which is a civil rather than criminal case

Yes, I have cancelled my order of MW2.

I may get it at a later date, but like hell I'm paying full price for it. I'm holding out until the game is relatively cheap so I don't end up feeling like I wasted a load of my money. And even if that doesn't happen, I have other games I care more about now. A lot more.
You relize that Modern warfare 2 is the most popular game this decade? You also should realize that cod4s price is still over 50 dollars. The price isnt going down anytime soon.

OT: I really hope they do put their money where their mouth is and stop having little bitchfits because they dont have thier every desire fulfilled.

Edit1: my game should be getting here in an hour or two.

I will eventually get MW2, better a gimped game than no game at all and come on guys... if non of us buy MW2 on PC and sales are low then they might not bother releasing the next Call of Duty game on PC at all!

I haven't even played World at War yet so I'm willing to wait till the PC version has fallen in price a bit more.
I may be a bit insane saying this, but if this is the PC trend, I think a lot of CoD players would actually be fine with that by the looks of the opinions here. No CoD is basically the same as them charging 60 for a gimped CoD in my eyes.
Well that's your loss.

I still really really REALLY want dedicated servers for MW2 and hope like hell that they will eventually implement them... but singleplayer is still just as PC friendly now as it was for COD4.

If the next game or entire series goes console exclusive it would be a shame, though I'd still play it on consoles.
And how I wish this was more common. People just complain, and then support exactly what they complain about. If you want it for the single player, thats great, Its the people who buy it, play it on multiplayer and complain how it sucks that really need to analyze their buy a bit more, and realize they are still supporting everything they complain about by paying for it.

(If they sold a slightly cheaper single player only version, I'd totally buy that)

This is true, but as I'd already said, I can wait. And maybe the game is the most popular, and that's fine; but at the end of the day, even if IW doesn't learn anything, at the very least I won't have wasted a bunch of my money on a game that, while good, is seriously crippled in the online department due to frankly boneheaded decision-making.

Well I just got the game and played thorugh the first two or three missions and Ill tell you right now, if you liked the first game this is a must have. Even if only for the single player.

Ok i got MW2 for the PC and all i can say is that it is actually better than expected,

- The no-dedicated server thing actually works pretty well you will not normally get a low ping

- No leaning was annoying at first but you get use to it

- The single player is great (the airport scene actually does make you feel bad after playing it)

- Spec Ops is magnificent

- Multiplayer feels more like guerilla warfare than just a nade fest

In my own opinion people were a LITTLE overacting on the PC version my only thing with MW2 is the wait in the middle of multiplayer when you have to do some Host migration.

Yes, I'm not paying an extra $10 for console crap on my PC. My torrent is currently going.
