Damien. Always Damien. For no reason. No good reason, anyway. I just like the name. Sounds kinda Satanic; that's a plus.

I use the name of my Zodiac, Leo most of the time. However, I have a particular fancy for heroic females. Not the comic book types, more like Alyx Vance. Being an artist, I've created my own "mangas" of my characters. So I usually use their names when naming my playable female characters. It adds a little more context and makes the game more meaningful to me with their entire histories and culture in my head.

I call most of my game characters Andalusa. It's less confusing for me and for other people when I play online.

It depends really.

Most of the time I give them standard names that I normally would go with if I'm playing the game for the first time, or I just pick from a list if there is one. If I'm playing the game again then I'm going with a slightly immature name or giving him/her a name just to make the dialogues hilarious.

I really should say it depends on how serious I'm going to be treating the game.

I use the names of characters from my story. XD Still waiting for the right game so my main character from my story can have a shot because Sorin Hunter is a cool name. XD

I usually just call them Chuck or Howard.

They're going to be fucking heroes anyway, no need for their names to be anything special.

My last name is Rex, so usually some derivative.
For example I may go with Rexy, from the city of Rextenople, a proud land in the heart of Rextopia!

If possible, i'll just use the 'random name' button until I find one that's not to normal.

If not... Meh, depends on my mood.

For most female characters I tend to use the name, 'Zoe', a lot - sometimes I'll put a 'y' at the end to change it up. lol . I just really like the name. And for a male character, I tend to use 'Sam'. Sometimes I use it for female characters as well. Short for Samuel, or, Samantha.

I just like to keep it simple.

I normally go with Conall, the name of the main character of the book I'm writing (or rather, trying to write. For the past 4 years... No my name isn't Brian.) When customizable, I make them look like how I imagine my character to look.

When younger I would use names that I brother used; then upgraded to using default names; and then after I have written numerous books I decided to use either My name or the name of my Characters. It all depends on my mood really. When it comes to Final Fantasy games however, I find it a sin to change their names because they are all so unique.

if my hubby's around for the naming of a new character, they'll usually end up with a stupid name (Dos Santos Shepherd being the most recent) but generally I will pick something that suits the game/ character, and if I can't think of on it'll be Bob!

I always name my characters after some pop culture reference, meme or just what ever i find most hilarious. Second play throughs often have a mandatory key plot item as their names, like "its the ship" or "I AM THE NEREVARINE" if only the NPC could understand
