Poll: I have decided I hate Microsoft

I swear, I'm the only person who doesn't have problems with his 360. Or, not many, and only one can actually be blamed on Microsoft. One 360 that I had for a few years RROD'd on me, after a few years, the second busted because incompetent movers busted it, and my third one hasn't had any issues, and it's the Arcade version.

If I had all the issues other people had I'd probably say I'd move to the PS3. Then I'd never be able to afford one and just not game anymore except WoW or on my friend's 360.

No i don't either and neither does my friend, the worst mine does is make a bad noes if theirs no sound except for the xbox

To my knowledge I literally cannot play this game no matter how hard I try. The game will *not* access window lives servers no matter what I do.
Then, after it finally finished downloading, I tried to log on, but I was told that I couldn't use my profile, and that I had to recover my profile rather than just directly using it from the data transfer. So I recovered it. Then I tried to buy Blacklight Tango Down. I got another error message:

"Can't retrieve information from Xbox LIVE. Please try again later.

Status Code: 801553b2"


How is this much failure even possible unintentionally? Should I just switch to Sony PS3?

Either you suck with technology or you forgot about the most obvious thing to do:

Infamous, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4. The PS3 might have few exclusives, but they are pretty damn good ones. There is a big difference between a few damn good exclusives and none. So your statement that it has no exclusives is flat out false. Implying that it has bad exclusives implies that you have a very different sense of taste from millions of other gamers.

I like Alan Wake, Gears of War, and many other Xbox exclusives, but the many problems I have had with Microsoft have been annoying me.

srsly though, a ps3 is only the way to go if its backwards compatible, then you add the strong and time tested back catalog of ps2 games to bolster the weary ps3 selection.

Resistance was one of the few good games for the PS3 at launch. Resistance 2 is the sequel. It was developed by Insomniac Games, the makers of Ratchet and Clank. Similar to R&C, it has a wide variety of wierd weapons. Unlike R&C, it has a grim, reasonably realistic look to it, instead of a cartoony look.

Here's an idea, sell it and buy one from Game stop used. They can't legally sell them broken, and that's were i got mine, never had a problem for any game except for fall out 3 when it froze once or twice. and it wasn't even 500$ with all the controllers and 60 GB hard drive. DO IT =D

I don't quite hate Microsoft but I do dislike a number of things they do. Like making my Laptop come with Windows 7 "starter" instead of the regular version. I want to change my wallpaper dammit! I don't care about the 3D aero effects or other BS like that but my wallpaper changing rights are sacred! Now I can't make this another spaceship themed computer!

I do recommend a PS3, just because I like the console better for a number of reasons but you may just want to stick to your PC for a while if you feel like returning the 360 or something.

In case you haven't noticed, a fairly large percentage of threads on The Escapist are dedicated exactly to whether or not people happen to like something. A fairly large percentage are dedicated to discussing what people think about factions, outfits, games, game mechanics, and other things related to gaming. It seems to me like you have a problem with threads on the escapist in general.

I am not complaining about the presence of failsafes to protect game saves. I am complaining that game saves are not held for the end of the download transfer. The console could easily just choose to deal with potential overwrites last of all. Roughly 1% of the data was potential overwrite, because I was transfering to a new system. If it had simply chosen to transfer everything *except* the potential overwrites, and then asked me about the overwrites after it had finished transferring everything else, I would have spent 1 mintue waiting for it to finish transferring when I got back from the resturant rather than 50 minutes.

The issue is not that it asks my permission, but that it halts the transfer of files to do so. It forces me to babysit the console for no reason. I am forced to wait around for an hour babysitting the machine instead of doing something else, simply because it wanted me to answer the question of overwriting Hexic 3d before it did anything else.

Relex, so its not perfect. Do you expect the PS3 to be any different? The systems dealing with it in its own logical way. Hell, its probably going "write, write, write, HEY! THIS THINGS STOPPING MY NEAT WRITING AND CHANGING THE ORDER OF WHERE THINGS ARE WOULD INCREASE LOADING TIMES! SHOULD I OVERWRITE IT TO PREVENT THIS?" (Imagine a really big surprised voice please, its what's going through my head). While it's not convenient for you, it likely works for the system.
