Poll: I have decided I hate Microsoft

I have a PS3 and a Xbox 360 and in my opinion the PS3 is better than the 360 as a console. Free online, better community, more intuitive interface. And now Valve is moving to the PS3 so eliminates the only reason I play on the Xbox (L4D2).

To my knowledge I literally cannot play this game no matter how hard I try. The game will *not* access window lives servers no matter what I do.
Then, after it finally finished downloading, I tried to log on, but I was told that I couldn't use my profile, and that I had to recover my profile rather than just directly using it from the data transfer. So I recovered it. Then I tried to buy Blacklight Tango Down. I got another error message:

"Can't retrieve information from Xbox LIVE. Please try again later.

Status Code: 801553b2"


How is this much failure even possible unintentionally? Should I just switch to Sony PS3?

Either you suck with technology or you forgot about the most obvious thing to do:

BUY A BLOODY HARD COPY!!!

This will solve your problem. Unless you don't know how to use a disc tray. I'm just assuming that you're extremely unco.

Buy a hard copy of a game that is digital only... Sorry if I come off harsh but don't do CAPS and bold telling someone something to do that is impossible.

OP, If you can get an older PS3 with backwards compatibility its definitely a worthwhile investment.

He did not mean to offend you. What I believe he meant is that you and the other guy need to stop arguing with one another. There is an ignore function on here. It is better to use the ignore function than to argue with another user and risk getting into trouble with the moderators.

You did get a new x-box 360 slim with a 250 gigabyte hard drive which is nice. It just sucks that you had go through all that trouble with your windows live account and your x-box 360 red ringing.

Keep cools, I've been using PC for almost 2 decades and have been in all sort of errors,eventually you'll learn to deal with even the most complicated problem without any frustration, same goes for the console problems too.

Don't hate Microsoft for this,it's their fault yes,but hey,without them,we won't have an Xbox360 at all, right?

Yeah, I finally managed to download it on Xbox 360. I finally got it to work. It's not great, but decent, if you don't care about graphics too much. Anyways, I would like to thank everyone who offered helpful advice and support.

Put it this way. The amount of 360 problem threads are immense and the ones about the PS3 are very few to say the least.
I used to be a 360 player until I lost my faith in MS after my 2nd 360 I got a PS3 and I still have it now and it was the best decision I made.

I think my friend will join you on the hate train, he's been raging all morning about his 2 week old 360-S, which bricked last night. If theres one complaint I have about MS, its why cant they fix this problem? its been near 5 years.

Asking if you want to override data is actually a good thing. Despite you complaining about what it was asking about if it had been something important you would have thanked it not bitched about it.

Here is what I said earlier on this subject:

"I am not complaining about the presence of failsafes to protect game saves. I am complaining that game saves are not held for the end of the download transfer. The console could easily just choose to deal with potential overwrites last of all. Roughly 1% of the data was potential overwrite, because I was transfering to a new system. If it had simply chosen to transfer everything *except* the potential overwrites, and then asked me about the overwrites after it had finished transferring everything else, I would have spent 1 mintue waiting for it to finish transferring when I got back from the resturant rather than 50 minutes.

The issue is not that it asks my permission, but that it halts the transfer of files to do so. It forces me to babysit the console for no reason. I am forced to wait around for an hour babysitting the machine instead of doing something else, simply because it wanted me to answer the question of overwriting Hexic 3d before it did anything else."

I threw a tantrum when my 360 died (Id just bought Skate 2 the same day) and switched to the PS3, which I add, was the best decision of my life...My first 360 burst into flames in my friends yard

Glad the PS3 is a "built to last" console like the early cartridge systems...I mean, my 1989 Megadrive STILL works perfectly whereas I had 2 360s in 2 years...fuck M$

My NES, Dreamcast, and PS2 still work perfectly. The only other system I have had a problem with is My N64, which overheats and freezes rather easily. But that's probably because of the expansion pack I installed.
