Probably because theres been more societal pressure placed on gay men than women over the course of history, probably the only instance I can think of where women have had it easier in terms of oppression than men.radioactive lemur said:I'm a straight man who doesn't really have any ties to the GLBT community, but has anyone else noticed that chicks are far more likely identify as bi than dudes? I know a ton of "bi" girls who count the fact that they made out with their friends once while drunk as their entire credentials for liking girls. On the other hand, even dudes who everyone knows have been with other dudes may brush it off as a mistake and claim to still be straight, and there are even gay guys who fucked women (In some cases a LOT of women) and yet still claim to be gay rather than bi.

I agree... hence the qualifier "conceivably" ;Ddrisky said:More like ten percent, considering the majority of people aren't in to their own gender. And like you said you lose the monosexuals that are put off by the idea.thedailylunatic said:At the same time, you roughly doubled the amount of people you can conceivably date. That's pretty cool.
As for me, its a maybe Bisexual. I know I like girls, and I've been attracted to guys (not just famous ones ether), but I can't confirm if I would have sex with a guy. So whatever, I just keep on rolling with it. Whatever happens will happen.

I mean, it's easy to think about it, but when you are standing in the moment and the cock's out of the bag (if you are a man that is), your past heterosexual experiences won't work that well for you, and going all the way can be intimidating.
Oh well, at least you are considering itQueer Jihad!
What if SadakoMoose is a guy? Wouldn't gaying up just double the evil gender privilege and concentrate the vile masculinity? I thought that the only way us guys are supposed to fight patriarchy is by getting a sex change or slitting our wrists.
True, but you are obviously not like that. You didn't have to accept me and you don't gain anything by doing it, and you might have gained more support if you tried to be witty on my expense instead of replying in a respectful manner just now. So there are exceptionsIrony said:It's probably a difference in how society takes the difference between the two. Being bisexual and homosexual are becoming more accepted in today's culture while being interested in a fictional dog isn't. To bad it has to be that way.CarlMinez said:What? Seriously?
How come this guy can get away with posting an entire thread about something as trivial and common as bisexuality when I get labeled an attention-whore for posting a thread about my love for a fictional dog!? *rages and kicks something on my way out*
OP: No offense against you or anything. You seem real cool and all.
And you too of courseBaradiel said:Possibly because it is trivial and common. Its something everyone can relate to.
Yours, as I'm sure you don't mind me saying, is an exceptional case. It was too different for most people to accept.

Welcome to the club, comrade!SadakoMoose said:Ok so, through some deep thought and reflection, I have come to realize that I am in fact a Bisexual. I am totally unashamed of this, and now have this strange feeling of solidarity with my favorite LGBT famous people. Definitely not just confused, as I have made sure that I really do like both.
So escapist, now what?
Anyone else one here?
It would kind of suck in some ways too though, especially when declining a date. Personally I've always found "I'm a lesbian" much more appealing than "I won't go out with you because I don't like you", even when I'm almost positive she's lying about being a lesbian.Thespian said:I'm gay, but damn, I wish I was bi. It seems like the perfect sexuality. It'd be cool if everyone in the world was bisexual. No wondering what sexuality someone is if you want to ask them out... It'd be pretty crazy.
