ME3 is gonna be Sheppard because of the ending to the second one. Hands down.

Its a really awesome universe though. I wouldn't know where it would turn after it. Perhaps ME3 wouldn't be the end? Its a possibility. I loved the second one, so I doubt I'll be disappointed.

The Mass Effect universe has a lot of potential, and I'd love to see it explored in greater depth. It doesn't even have to be an RPG, if they're clever.

Further exploration of the IP, but with a different protagonist.

The Mass Effect setting has tons of material to work with, it's definitely got more than one story in it. Plus the longer the IP endures, the greater a chance we'll get a game that features Blasto.

Why do people assume Shepard and the lot will win? I'd love to see the galaxy wiped out at the end of 3. Then, the only possible way to extend the story would be to jump ahead to the next civilization and start the cycle over.

Prequels wouldn't be too bad, but I'm kinda hoping everyone we know dies in ME3.

Spoiler: How it should totally go down.

I hope Shepard and co. find a way to defeat the Reapers, but it's too late. Accepting their fate, they preserve the crucial information, including info on what the Reapers are and do (and proof of their existence) into something that will survive the invasion (like the Prothean beacons, or encode it somehow into the Keepers). Shepard then has one final hurrah with his entire squad, fighting side by side, each of the characters you've grown to cherish going down fighting, one by one. Then finally, Shepard succumbs to the onslaught (kinda like Halo Reach).

After a while there could be the sound of some kind of bizarre language being spoken, and images of strange new species developing, discovering the citadel, discovering your warning, and defeating the Reapers. The game ending on a screen of an enormous statue of your Shepard, resting in the citadel's presidium.

Besides, I'm still betting that Shep dies (for real this time) at the end of ME3. Seriously, I'll wager $500 that Shep is going to end up being a Space Jesus and ultimately die for our sins. That will kind of limit Shepard from being involved in future stories.

in regards to shepard dying...Im not so sure, I think it could be one of the big choices, self secrifice to save lots of lives kinda thing but mabye not set,

But I dont like to speculate on thease things...in fact I dont want ME3 ro come out, because then it will end and Im sure Ill be crying no matter how it turns out

also as Ive said a million times before I dont want to the movie to come out (one thats about shepard anyway) it would ruin my veiw on the series

I'm just gonna speculate and say Obsidian for Mass Effect 4.

Anyway, I think after ME3 they should take a break from the series for awhile.

Shepard's story ends with ME3. After saving the galaxy from the Reapers three times, he/she deserves some time off. Maybe a new trilogy could have Shepard's son/daughter picking up where Mom/Dad left off, but I'd rather the franchise go in another direction.

The fact is, BioWare isn't exactly known for churning out endless sequels (possibly because they are Canadians - their moms probably didn't teach them how to rip people off, unlike ours' amiright guys?)

OT: Obligatory Shepard needs to take a break and settle down and a have a family with Liara/Tali/Thane/Miranda/Jack/Garrus/Jacob/Kaidan/Ashley(you never know. Why do you think they weren't killed on horizon hhmm?) XD

But yeah, i want some spin-offs. Not too many. Maybe a couple BIG ones. But i definitely want to see what happens to the Krogan with their little testicle problem. And maybe at some point (in the FAR future) the Races could band together and create a fleet powerful enough to challenge the reapers........and then become them (dun dun DUUUUN!)

I'd like to see them explore other things, but not with Shepard. Shepard's story should end with ME3. However, I do think they could get away with some spin-offs with the setting, maybe even in different genres! Or on handhelds, maybe?

I'd like to see a sort of DA:O but Mass Effect game. We get to choose an alien race, and we go for a nice romp through space. Should be quite entertaining.

I highly doubt that EA will close down such a sucessfull franchise. I'm betting more Mass effect games will come after 3, but by a diffrent developer. That's good, so long as it is given to quality devs

Mass Effect is just a really great setting for games and at this point its nowhere near getting stale.

After they wrap up the current conflict in Mass Effect 3, I'd still love to see more Mass Effect so long as Bioware can think up a good storyline for them. Though I am inclined to think that Mass Effect 3 should be the end of Shepard's story which from what I've heard is Bioware's intention.

Shep's great and I love the stories but it should end at the trilogy and let us explore the rest of the universe.

People have thrown the rachni wars/krogan rebellion about and the first contact war, all of those would be awesome, especially the former I think would have potential for the multiple story line play of DA:O (start as a Salarian STG recruit, Asari commando wanna be, Turian trooper, merc of some function, etc). Where the First Contact War would make a nice two game series, the first from one race's perspective, the second from the opposite. (or just do two campaigns in one game)
