Yes to both, not for the murder but just the pure rush and feeling of the person as they look down the barrel of the gun pointed at their fear stricken face.

Sorry, I am a messed up individual.

I don't support the death penalty, so no.

How do you justify hating murder so much that you do it as well? That is the upmost form of hypocrisy.

murder in itself is not the problem, its the fact that they killed someone and is likely to do it again

we have a lot of fucked up people here....not you person i quoted but some of these answers...jesus christ

If they've committed murder, be it a member of my family or not, and have been caught- the alternative to their death is a lengthy prison sentence. This time in jail is then paid for by the state, using money paid to them by us via tax. This money is much better spent elsewhere, rather than keeping people that simply, aren't part of normal society, alive.
That in mind, hell yes I'd pull the trigger, on any that break the law to such a degree

Yes to both. Better to kill a murderer then let the murderer go so he can kill another innocent.

See, the thing about the situation presented by the OP is that you don't know who is holding him for you.
Is it the cops or is it just some dude? Are you certain he's the one who killed them?

We're just told some dude is tied up and he killed people. Too much information is left out to really make a proper decision.

How can you be certain if that person tied to the chair really is the person who committed the crimes?
That's true. That's why I gave the most basic answer though but yes that's without taking into account all of the variables that the OP didn't include.

Revenge is a dish best served cold ( please dont let me be ninja'd)
But yeah I would shoot in both 1 and 2. I believe in justice, not mercy.

Well if he's already been caught and tied up, he's obviously going to be arrested if you let him live.
Again we don't know because of all the variables that the OP didn't mention, so I don't know if he would or not.

Both yes, but only if I had irrefutable pfoof that (s)he indeed murdered them in cold blood with no reason, which would lead me to believe he is going to do it to more people down the line. Otherwise, no to both.

Where is the choice 1 no 2 yes? Also the oh god this again option would be nice ;) .

I do not fit any of your options, if this kind fellow is going to prision and I am allowed to kill him without issue I would do the right think and shoot his shoulders and knees. Let him enjoy prison with a disability.

Sorry but murder for revenge is pointless, knowing you fucked some asshole up for the rest of his life in prison, priceless.

I have no problem killing people if there is a good cause, see murderer who is about to shoot innocent people. After the deed was done I am sure I would have to come to terms and such, but at least it served a purpose.

Sorry to mess up your thread, but I live in a grey zone.
Dammit I want to change my answer to this! Too late? NOOOO!!

OT:Well now that I think about blowing out that fellows kneecaps and sending him prision with bubba Joe waiting for him would give me a constant smug look.

Yes to both.

Why should I even need to think about stuff like this when half the board is full of moral scenarios or reccomend me threads.

Maybe the first one, but if they killed someone I don't even know I don't really care.

I quite like your idea, though once he's in prison with those disabilities the taxpayers get to cover his medical costs for the rest of his life, better to finish him off after making him suffer.

To the point:
There are people that while I'm not actually related to them I consider family who I would kill for in a heartbeat, and probably sleep pretty well afterward. I would not make it quick and I would not make it clean, and I probably wouldn't use the gun until the end.

Random people I don't know don't concern me as much as loved ones do so I would be more willing to step back and let the justice system deal with a murderer in the second situation.

Both no. We have a justice system for a reason, you know. Plus it'd make me no better than him/her.

No for both scenarios, though I would so love to. However, my desire to kill them would be overridden by the knowledge that there is a very good reason we don't allow one person to be judge, jury, and executioner, especially someone who is emotionally involved.

Your internet is amazing. If it were a psychical thing, it would be a cookie.
What flavor?

I find it interesting that all of us gamers are not taking the blood lust response of "kill everything!" Have video games failed in making us perfect killers? I am actually glad to see so many people who use logic rather than emotion in this thread.

I do question how valid some responses are, after all they only way to know what you are capable of is to be in the situation where you are hanging over the edge of the volcano(when it happens to you).

I'd choose not to for both situations. Even if they killed someone in cold blood, while I'd be killing someone for a reason, I still don't think I could do it. What separates me from them if I do pull the trigger? I couldn't justify it to myself. If someone else wanted to kill them, I'd give them the goddamn gun. But I wouldn't do it myself.

Maybe the killers in both scenarios had decided to shoot the previous killers of their families? It's a huge ongoing loop you see. If I shoot, I would end up in the chair with the person I killed's sibling aiming the gun at me. The cycle repeats.
