Poll: MW2 PC hate overblown? YES!

It's funny that gamers whine over other gamers behavior, especially when they know what they are annoyed about. Actually it's just stupid altogether and this whole elitism thing that started with MW2 as well, gamers know what they like in their games and saying the console doesn't have it so get over it is beyond ignorant.

The point of new games these days is too improve the experience for everyone, dedicated servers were always chucked in because it is a great idea and it made everyone happy. Any of you that thinks that taking out all these great things is not a big deal well you couldn't be anymore wrong, that's if other companies start doing as well I mean.

Complaining is the only way to be heard and if no one ever complained about this shabby treatment well they would take out a lot more.

Yes its justified. People are going to buy the game regardless of its flaws because of the hype and because people are stupid sheep. If you don't at least try and stop them then Infanty Ward will keep releasing shit games that screw pc users. and problem is aswell, if they get away with it theres a good chance that other developers will take the same approach.
My opinion on Modern Warfare anyway is
Story in both games : Boring shooting scenes followed by explosion. Rinse and repeat
Multiplayer : involves elements that have been around in games for along time. Seriously. I played the first modern warfare and just though .... this is alot like firearms ... a mod for half life made 5 years before hand. Pc gamers can easily get access to games and mods that are far superior to modern warfare 2. Console games can easily find games that are far better or at least on the same par as modern warfare two that are cheaper also. Just look on the pre owned shelfs and you'll find them.

Examples of first person shooters with better stories + single player gameplay on xbox:
Half Life 2
Bioshock
Call of Juarez
Far Cry 2

Multiplayer games that are just as fun on xbox:
Bad Company
Team Fortress
Far Cry 2
Prey(yeah Really... You can walk on the celling)
Left 4 dead 1+2

Annoys me how i have friends who tell me that modern warfare 2 is the best thing since sliced bread and then 15 minutes playing the many games + mods i have they soon change there tune

The modern warfare 2 hate is perfectly justified, it's the sixth call of duty game (not counting expansions) and for some reason morons gobble it up and shower it with awards. It did nothing new, took out features and cost more than previous titles, and the worst part is that people though that this subpar game is somehow the best EVAR!!1

The hate is perfectly justified, I won't apologize for thinking it's a shit game anymore than I would for not liking the fucking Jonas Brothers..

HAHAHA...Well anyways, I was two inches away from purchasing MW2 on my pc...literally, I decided not to because to be honest i don't like the feel of the mouse. But anyways. I agree mw2 did NOT live up to expectations, I've been following the series since cod 2. And it got better until cod 4 then just plateaued.

For everyone saying that they should stop the series...how about a big fuck no? For one, it's not even a SERIES as one would have it. For one there have been only two installments in an actual original plot so far mw1 and mw2, and secondly the other 3 games were all historical based... not really series as it was just a large player in a particular genre, ww2 fps.

They dropped the ball on mw2, i agree, for everyone, crap servers, glitches, and terrible hosting...it's not unplayable, it's just not as fun as the previous games...I can tell...mainly because I just HATE hardcore search and destroy now, when it used to be my favorite game type.

Thermal made life for everyone too easy, weapon accuracy is ridonkulous the fact that i can't have Ninja AND sitrep neuters your ability on offense as well. either A: get murked by someone with heartbeat or B: raped by explosives lying everywhere.... They basically made stealth in HCSD impossible.

PC gamers have been spoiled elitist brats for a long while now. Seems like they all feel they should get the standard treatment. (Or at least the ones petitioning against this game.)

Fortunately companies seem to be favoring console gaming, which I always felt more immersive anyway with vibration feedback and superior graphics(?). It's a good shooter, probably (no experience) improved by the mouse and keyboard interface and people should just accept it for what it is: a console port. A near direct one; no privileges are on the consoles that isn't on the PC. They're just complaining they didn't get the standard stuff? Boo-hoo.

Let's take apart your post piece by piece, shall we? Firstly, let me just say that I mostly divide my time up between PC and console gaming. Now, what in God's name are you smoking that makes you say console games have superior graphics? With a decent enough rig, you can run Crysis Warhead with some decent settings and it's much better looking than pretty much everything I have seen. And no, we're not complaing about losing the "extra" stuff, we're (or, they're) complaining about losing the standard PC stuff, dedicated servers, modding capabilities and then Activision has the stones to raise the price? Let me say that again; Activision is making people pay more for less content. The Call of Duty series began on the PC and is now ignoring it entirely. Forgetting your roots and producing a shameful port is not worthy of extra money, no matter how "hard they worked". Everyone works hard, but noone asks for more from the community and gives less because of it.

I don't have any beef with consoles, I love mine, but please, inform yourself before you rage at the PC.

Seriously, I used to like IW and I loved CoD4, that's why I hate MW2 so much. I also enjoy the multiplayer on Xbox 360, but that's mostly because of the noobs and the fact that there are practically no cheaters. CoD4 had lots of solid work and care behind it, MW2 feels like a soul-less rehash of it's predecessor. As for dedicated servers, I wouldn't mind, if they had modding tools, but they don't. Also, the price raise is BULLSHIT, especially considering how much sales they have. I'm not even going to mention all the "controversy" they tried to stir up for obvious reasons.

I can appreciate that MW2 took some work to make, all games do, but really IW? Really? Or is it Activision who is behind all this? I swear, they're so much worse then EA. In before the lock/flame war.

P.S. The single-player is too short and makes no sense. Captain Price was declared dead on the bridge (you see the medic give up CPR on him), and even if he was alive, they wouldn't leave his body behind. That's only ONE of the MANY plot-holes in MW2. On the plus side, the music is AWESOME.

as for console vs PC superiority: PC can be upgraded for much better performance. Also there is (not) the ability to mod the game.

most COD games...since 3 have had short campaigns for one reason... they are fast paced...

every little detail is in their what they want to do for the story, if they made it longer people would probably complain it's to long. the story is meant to be short, fast paced, and include alot of story. which it did. COD WAW story was short...not many people complained at that for this long and that was made by treyarch ffs =P

i admit this is the shortest campaign they have done, but i like it, at least they haven't completely de-railed the train, they are just doing what they have been for quite a while now.

i will admit the hate for this game is rediculous...i mean hate website? wow over board and i do wish people would pipe down a bit, seriously, so what if you cant MOD the game, in my opinion that's good means that maps wont be created left right and centre to clog someone's computer up.

but meh this is just me rambling on and no one will listen so pfft, speaking of MW2, think ill kick some ass =)

urm...thermal isn't all that...try cold blooded my friend =) its for perk 2 =) and i find the stealth to be ok, not the best, i can easily sneak around and kill 5 people with a knife, while been where the enemy is =)

Also, we had increased prices in the UK. The world is not just AMERIKA. IW/Activision announced that they wanted to sell the game for £50. Luckily, most retailers told them to get fucked and sold the game for a more reasonable, but still a lot for a PC game, £40.

Far Cry 2 better single player and multi-player? i beg to differ, multi-player is awful and the single player drags and bores me, and im pretty sure many other people as well.

and haven't you thought that people also buy this game, not because of the hype, but because they just wanted MW2 =S seriously, not everyone follows hype...me for example. i didn't follow it, i just got it cause i liked the first one...and oo look i also like the second, although i admit it didn't deserve the reviews it got.

infinity ward did it of course so they can sell the map packs and in this economic climate i can see that as a fair thing but as a console and pc gamer i have to say it does annoy me a bit but at least pc gamers dont have to wait hours to find a game whereas at least on the 360 you have to wait hours for a game.
