I said that the Head up Ass plague that blights the land of gaming couldn't get worse, thank you TF2 players for proving me wrong.

I could care less to be honest. But alas, if they want to take their hate out on someone, the F2P players arent the ones that should be victim. Its not their fault the game is F2P.

I think it's disgusting, and I don't even play the game! Why penalize people for saving a couple of quid? F2P palyer does not equal a bad or rude player. Looks like the elitism hierarchy will need a tweaking:

1. P2P PC Gamers
2. F2P PC Gamers
3. PS3/360 Gamers
4. wii Gamers
5. Facebook Gamers
lol what about iPhone gamers :p

It's bloody stupid, that's what it is. Free to play player does not equal crappy player, just as a person who bought it will not equal greatest player alive. All it is is people being elitist pricks.
Maybe not, but there are severs that want skilled players only, or rather is known for having only skilled TF2 players. The server im on is one of them, its a 32 cap limit of players but the problem is, most players BEFORE F2P we're either skilled or knew how to use team work and listen to others advice. Last night I constantly said "there is a sentry gun up stairs, you CANNOT charge up there like Rambo, use a stickybomb launcher". Eventually I had to swap from Solly to Demo just to do it because no one would listen and tried tanking it as a heavy.

they pay for the server, they can do whatever the hell they like with it.
This exactly. It's their money, If I was still running servers I'd use that Plugin on all but 1.

EDIT: Sidenote, ALL Trade Servers need this plug in for the obvious. I had a guy going "Omg why arent you buying my hat?" Because you cant trade HURP DERP.
(That and the amount of Idlers on a trade server is fucking retarded)

Once upon a time, I bought Carcassonne on XBLA for $20. A few months later, Microsoft gifted it to everyone. I was a little pissed that I had bought something that was later made free, but you know what? I had gotten my money's worth, and that's all that matters.

Of course, if you pay for a server, I don't really care what you do - it is your server, after all. I just hope you realize that you're fucking over F2Pers who don't know what server to join.

Wow, that's really fcking dumb. "Hey guys, lets ban the influx of new players who want to have fun like us. Damn them to heck I say!"
You speak blasphemy! GAMING is serious business!

But really, this is just another group of elitist fuckhead gamers who think the world owes them something.
Yeah really. Luckily I only play on a couple of servers and I only heard one person complain about the F2P folks, but he gt shut down pretty quickly by other long time players. I have the helmet that they gave payers who owned the game on most ofmy characters at the moment just so I wont hear people ***** and complain.

I think it's good, it shows how reserved most "veteran" players are against the F2Pers and it won't make all the hate as spread out, it will be concentrated and with a week or two than they don't play with F2Pers they will forget the hate, I personally dislike the F2Pers because I paid for it and it makes me pissed but I really don't bother them in other ways, I really don't tell the difference except on equipment or skill and I still enjoy killing somebody who is technically defenseless so... yeah, whatever... I went too much of the topic. You still get my point.

Gamers can be such elitist bastards, it's a shame to see people making such a fuss over something they should be enjoying. I always loved the influx of new players around Christmas time every year, and it's good for the community as a whole to have more people participating in the game.

something feels very childish about all this...

"there was once a mother with two sons. she loved her two sons very much, but one of her sons had a really fun toy that he always played with. he got this toy by doing a few chores for his mother, and he has friends he always plays against.

one day, the mother noticed how lonely her other son was, and decided that her other son has every right to play with his brother, so she got him the toy as well so he could play too.

but his brother, and his brother's friends didn't let the child play with them because he didn't work for it. now the child is lonely again, wondering if his mother can help him in any way."

can you spot the metaphor?

I like it.

It just further proves the type of mentality that the STEAM community has.
Sorry if this is asking too much, because it would be nice if you also capitalized COMMUNITY since its not valves fault pricks play their games.

I don't like the plugin at all. All its doing is trying to make people who are pricks feel superior because they bought the game 4 years ago, and just picked it up so they can brag that they did. And its going against Valve's wishes, which is another reason someone should create a kicking system that FUCKING WORKS! Seriously, I'm getting sick and tired of having some prick micspam shitty ass songs, then followed by me being kicked to politely ask if he stopped playing those songs. This REALLY happened, 12 times just withing the past few months, it pisses me off because I was kicked from 12 different servers and asking if the man be kicked for disrupting the whole server.
All and all, this is for elitest shooter pricks to feel superior to people just learning.

A little childish tantrum against Valve for making the game F2P. But hey, if people are going to be snooty and act like childish dicks to the F2P players then fine let them have their exclusive servers. I hope they feel validated in their hate.

I'm fine with the idea. For one it keeps the game competitive for people who want to be competitive, and secondly it allows the groups of assholes to play together without bothering anyone else so that all the hate and rage against F2P players is concentrated on just a few servers instead of having a little of it everywhere.
That assumes two rather hilariously unlikely things:

1) All TF2 players who bought the game are super-good at it. Yeah. Riiiiight.

2) All TF2 players who use the F2P version have A) never played the game before B) terrible at it and C) monstrous assholes.

Care to justify either of those?
In answer to 1: No, not all TF2 players who bought the game are super good at it, but they have played longer, know the maps better, and have more and better weapons than the people who just started.

In answer to 2: I never said that the F2P players are assholes. I meant that the people who use this plug-in are the assholes. You completely misread that. And yes, the majority of the people who do TF2 F2P either never played the game before, or played very little of it, because anyone who had much interest in the game in the first place would have already bought it during the many years of the game's existance up to now. Again, the F2P players aren't worse at the game, but they are in a much less competitive state because they don't know the maps or have any weapons but the basics.

Honestly though, are their any F2P players who would actually want to play on the servers that use this plug-in? I don't think so, so the plug-in really doesn't hurt anyone.
So obviously because "their kind isn't wanted around there," they'd have no desire to play there? Man, you're a master of iron-clad logic.
Would YOU want to play with people who constantly insult you through the entire match. No, I didn't think so. If the people don't want to play with F2P players, and are hostile to them, then what exactly would be the draw for F2P players to WANT to play with them?

Snarf snarf snarf, let's do something to keep the dirty, poor, free players out.
It's okay! You can pay for your own servers- Oh wait.
You seem to be working on an assumption here. Protip: It's wrong. I don't play TF2. Never have and the ability to get it for free probably isn't going to make me.

If those who paid full price for TF2 are now so bitter that they want to exclude a slew of new players then fine. P2P users seem to be working on the assumption that everyone who got the game without exchanging currency for it is automatically a useless, dust-eating cretin who is completely incapable of civility or playing the game with any skill.

Why am I so venomous about this if I don't play TF2? The exclusionary behaviour is just that of high-school cliques, or of toddlers throwing their toys out of their prams. It just irks me.
Read the following.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_September

Whenever there was a sale or free weekend there was an influx of new players, but it subsided. Now that the game is F2P there is a rush of new players, the majority of which will stay F2P for a while if not forever. There has always been newbs on servers, but with the plugin it greatly reduces the amount at one time.

Who says f2p players arent as competitive as others
The majority of the F2P players only just picked up the game, and therefore either never played it before or played very little of it, meaning that they would not be very well practiced with the new classes or know many of the maps, and they wouldn't have any of the new weapons, just the basics. I'd say that's enough to consider them temporarily limited on a competitive level.

The funny part is that even if the server plays exactly the same either way people still won't admit that F2P discrimination is bullshit. Anyways, its elitist pricks being arbitrary discriminatory like always so as always I call like I see it and avoid such behavior.

Actually, you know what I want? A plugin that won't let you join unless you've done the tutorials.

I see experienced players complaining about inexperienced ones to be completely immature. Valve implemented the "be a coach" feature for a reason, and even before that if you were smart, you'd know the right (not to mention mature) course of action would be to teach the newbies how to get better in a friendly and welcoming manner.
