That's horrible...

It's as bad as 'can I play with you?' 'no, I HATE you'.
[sub]No, I didn't hear that often when I was very very young[/sub]

I reckon people supporting the plugin are acting like a bunch of children and should grow up and wake up to reality, Free to Play is here to stay and Valve and changing it's stance. instead of wanting segregation (i thought the world grew past this stupidity by now, next thing you know theres going to be a Civil Rights Movement for Free to play players.) i think people should accept F2P and instead of shunning the noobs, we should welcome them and teach them how to play. Don't act so self entitled.

If your complaining about an influx of player your looking at the whole issue wrong. It takes time for new users to become valuable members of a community.

I don't mind it being there but I will not actively seek out servers with the plugin, I personally don't care less. But if a group of people wish to play on a server with the plugin then fine, let them do it.

The poll lacks an "I understand why they'd want that" option. I'm not entirely liking it but the servers are paid for and the people paying for it have any right to deny people who are new and won't play their classes very well the time on their servers. It's probable that the server owners have limited free time and they don't want to put up with explaining the game and enduring a new guy messing up as they are bound to do (which isn't bad as long as they're learning). I can't say I would want every server to deny new players, but if they don't want anyone on their server other than people they know, that's their right as it is their server.

There's probably some who just don't want new players and want to be snobbish like that, but I suppose the majority just has limited time and don't want to take care of new players. It's not a crime to keep a server private, nor is it objectionable. It's their right to not allow players who don't know what they'll have to do with their class into their game. Just as there are servers for Swedish, Dutch or German speaking people only, it's their decision on how they want their private leisure time to be like.

Of course. Every noob is a F2P. Wow, hooray for generalizing.

This is stupid. Is paying to buy the game a requirement to be a douchebag, a rookie or a microphone spammer ? No. There are assholes on both sides of the spectrum. This is a malevolent and spiteful action against people that simply want something to do on their free time.

And noob free? Hah! If they ever REALLY cared, this kind of plugin would be installed on day 1. But wait, that would only let players who weren't rookies or somehow had their hands on a beta earlier. Whoops! Hollow logic is hollow.

They are paying for the servers. They can do whateverthehell they want with it. So don't get your panties in a knot.

If you want more servers that accepts F2P players, then you start paying for a server.

I do hope that his is just a very vocal minority that doesn't like the f2p players because I was considering getting TF2 whenever I get a pretty good computer because I had heard such good things about both the game and the community. If this is a very significant chunk of the players I really don't think that I want to get the game and be discriminated against.

Now that's kind of a dick move! "Sorry, you have every right to play this game, but we don't like you, so we're gonna kick you. Bye."
I'd be pissed if that happened to me.

I accidentally clicked this I don't like the idea option.

As a F2P team fortress player, I just think it can't really be a bad thing. Their server, their rules, and it will probably be used by a minority.

I'd rather compare it to kicking a swedish speaker out of a french only server. If they don't want them in, it's not too much of a problem is it? Just find a different server.

I don't support the idea of discrimination, but I do support the idea of doing what you want (within legal conduct of course) with your own server.

While I don't like the idea of this, if the server admins want to use this they have every right to. TF2 multiplayer is under a dedicated server model. So the admins/community of a particular server are directly supporting it out of their own pockets. If they don't want F2P players on their server that they pay for, then they have the right to keep them out.

Had this experience for year anyway even though I bought the game, can't join a single game without being booted for not being their mates, or screamed at over voice for not choosing the class *they* wanted me to play.

Never been able to play a full match on it, had to uninstall and leave it gathering dust. Shame as I really wanted to get into it.

● I don't give a rat's arse about this plugin idea

I am one of those F2P people. I buy a a 0,99 cent item off the shop. I go "Premium" and continue to be the clueless noob that I am. Whereever I want.

Owners of servers are allowed to let whoever they want in, and kick/ban whoever the hell they want. I mean, they're the ones paying for it, and if they want it as a server for only premium people that is there decision.

I bet you all 10 bucks that if a bunch of Pub Club members started kicking you out of off-topic threads because you weren't "pure" enough, you'd be all over their asses on how it's wrong.

If people want to spend their free time with the more experienced,(not saying better, just had more time with the game)and not the random pubbies that have only been playing a week or so, I think they should be free to do that. After all, they are probably the ones renting the server. Why shouldn't they be able to do what they feel is right and be able to enjoy the game how they want? Servers that run the plugin are only a small fraction of servers anyway. It doesn't feel good to be kicked from a server it took you a long time to connect to, but that is just part of the game, you can't really change it. Just because I own the game and play it often doesn't mean I am obligated to help build the community. A server with the plugin would probably be a hotbed of bitterness and longing for the days of yore, so I don't see why anyone but the bitter and nostalgic would want to play on them anyway.

Ive been playing TF2 for years now and i feel it keeps "Hardcore" servers just that, For example i play 2Fort Classic V2 And usually its full of veteran players but recently its taking a good 20 minuites to get a slot and its so full of noobs and griefers it just isnt enjoyable anymore.
