Poll: No Wii? :-(

If you go into your profile and look at the 'Top Games' page, it will show you the most popular games on each console (and PC) based on your profiles, however there isn't one for the Wii!

Is the Wii so unpopular on the Escapist it doesn't get it's own list or what? Does anyone here reckon it should have a list? Or is there another reason why it isn't on there?

I only have a Wii out of the consoles so I kinda feel left out, it's nothing serious though.

Edit: I think it's because of what thecaptainof said, there are no gamer tags for the Wii. So how about we set up some type of vote thing for 'What are your top 5 Wii games? Or whatever'.

This is easily my favourite gaming website/forum for just about everything and I reckon should have it's own list. Makes it look more complete I reckon and I know there are Wii fans on here to make it possible.

Edit 2: To the people saying they don't have enough good games, I reckon they do. Let see, we got SSB Brawl, LoZ: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Okami, No More Hero's, Mario Kart Wii, De Blob, Zack & Wiki, Super Mario Brothers Wii, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Super Paper Mario Wii, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and I can't remember the rest. But yeah, I think there is enough.

It's pulled from the gamertags/PSN/Steam IDs that people put into their profiles. Your complaint should be aimed at Nintendo for not having anything similar, rather than The Escapist.

The Wii really doesn't have many notable games on it. I'm sure I'll get quoted a million times by people spouting off Super Smash Bros and Super Mario Galaxy, but the Wii just isn't up to par with other consoles that it really couldn't have a list. You know that there are more games for the Wii than any other console? And almost all of them are quick crappy minigame collections that third-party developers throw out there to make a quick buck. I know that the Wii has some good games, but not enough good games. That, and the majority of Escapist users don't really like Wii games as much.

There are 2 games I like for the wii.

No More Heroes and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

And twilight Princess was much better for the Gamecube and the only reason No More Heroes was good for the Wii and wouldn't work for any other system is because the Wiimote made fun noises when you hit people or got phone-calls. Other than that the wii didn't utilize it's controls enough.

In short: Nope, no Wii, ever ever ever.

It's a bit less machiavellian than that.

Xbox, PS3 and PC all have methods of tracking who's playing what game and for how long (XBL, PSN, Steam), with these you can link your account's stats tracking to Escapist.com.

The Wii doesn't have anything like that in it's online service. Short of going round and timing all Wii players it isn't possible to find out who's playing what game for how long, hence no top games list.

Well my guess is a lot of them left. When the Brawl review was released there was sooo many fans bitching about it, they were coming from left and right, I mean just look how many posts are on that thread, bloody hell!

How many good games would you say is 'enough'? I think the Wii has plenty of high-quality games.

The actual reason the Wii doesn't have a list on this site is that there's no notable way to track what people have been playing on it. The friend code system can't really be tracked except on your own save files. All three of those gaming venues on the site (360, PS3, Steam) have an actual way to track gaming amongst our members, while the Wii does not.

Well,maybe,but most Wiis don't even connect to the net. And i think their online service is not as wide as Live/PSN/Steam.

Well, if the developers of the site have to put extra work into it because they can't access the data publicly like they can through Sony and MS then no, I don't think they should. It's a little used feature and doesn't warrant the extra time spent.
