That is of course ignoring such titles as Muramasa, The Conduit, Boy and His Blob, Deadly Creatures, Boom Blox, Zack and Wiki, House of the Dead Overkill, Dead Space Extraction, Klonoa, Little King's Story, No More Heroes, de Blob... I'd go on, but I think I've made my point.Kiel Hyre said:The problem with the Wii is that it really has no merit to it other then it's unique playing ability. Don't they all?DrDeath3191 said:It seems this thread has degenerated into a 'Wii iz teh suXXorz' thread.
I don't think you quite got my point. I gave the Wii credit, but I also went on to say that most of the 3rd party games are the same generic copy of each other.DrDeath3191 said:That is of course ignoring such titles as Muramasa, The Conduit, Boy and His Blob, Deadly Creatures, Boom Blox, Zack and Wiki, House of the Dead Overkill, Dead Space Extraction, Klonoa, Little King's Story, No More Heroes, de Blob... Never once did I say that the Wii sucked. In fact, I enjoy the Wii and happen to own one and play it quite often.
No need, I'm just glad I could clear that up.DrDeath3191 said:Alright then. My apologies.Kiel Hyre said:I don't think you quite got my point. However, the same could be said of any console. For example, FPSs happen to be pretty big right now. Especially ones with regenerating health bars, a la Halo. So guess which genre clogs the arteries of the HD consoles? FPSs. And they tend to be pretty samey as well.
I think it's because the Wii has the highest number of games. Since it's the easiest system to develop for and the most popular console by far, pretty much every crack-pot game designer thinks they can make a buck off of the Wii. Thus we get such tripe as anything Data Design Interactive has produced, or the moronic non-functioning minigame compilations.Kiel Hyre said:No need, I'm just glad I could clear that up.DrDeath3191 said:Alright then. And I do agree, it goes for many consoles. However, when it's brought to mind, Wii just seems to be the popular choice when it comes to 3rd parties. I'm not sure how to explain that however. : )
I agree 100%. I couldn't have said it better myself.DrDeath3191 said:I think it's because the Wii has the highest number of games. There may be some high quality games, but not as much as the PS3 and 360. If I said "Name 10 high-quality games for all 3 systems." I could name 10 PS3 and 360 games off the top of my head easily but it would be a tad bit harder to name off 10 Wii games. Maybe that's just me, but when you take the sheer power of the 360, PS3, and the PC, the Wii just can't compare.DrDeath3191 said:How many good games would you say is 'enough'? With a bit of research, there are actually almost the same number of high-quality games on Wii as there are on the other two consoles (using Metacritic as a source, of course). Plus when it comes to exclusives, the Wii has both the best and the most.popdafoo said:There may be some high quality games, but not as much as the PS3 and 360. Well this is also a matter of opinion as well. I think that Borderlands is a much better game than Mario Kart Wii or Super Mario Galaxy. I also don't agree with many of Metacritic's ratings. I mean, the Wii is a decent system and all and I don't really have anything against it, but I haven't played my Wii in months. I'm much too busy occupied with my 360 and PC games to bother with it.DrDeath3191 said:With a bit of research, there are actually almost the same number of high-quality games on Wii as there are on the other two consoles (using Metacritic as a source, of course). While the system is less powerful, that isn't what we were discussing. We are discussing games. And the Wii has many.
It's alright that you have your opinion. When most people say 'high quality games' they usually mean 'games with high ratings'. So pardon me if I mistook your meaning.popdafoo said:Well this is also a matter of opinion as well. I think that Borderlands is a much better game than Mario Kart Wii or Super Mario Galaxy. Ok you're on.Flying-Emu said:Name three that aren't Final Fantasy or racing games.GamingAwesome1 said:The difference here is on the other hand you had crap tons of excellent titles that only the PS2 could boast, Wii? Not so much.
I laughed when you said that Tekken was an excellent game.GamingAwesome1 said:Ok you're on.Flying-Emu said:Name three that aren't Final Fantasy or racing games.GamingAwesome1 said:The difference here is on the other hand you had crap tons of excellent titles that only the PS2 could boast, Wii? 1.) Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil (Loved that platformer)
2.) Tekken Series including my personal favourite Tekken Tag
3.) Jak and Daxter: Precursor Legacy
Bonus!) Soul Calibur 3 (I personally stand by this one being the best in the series)
Bonus! 2) Shadow of Colossus (You just can't beat this one)
Not to mention the system had entire access to the original Playstation's library, which is a haven of excellent games that I could play all day.
I could go on and on and on until I'm blue in the face.
That entirely depends on your definition of good.Nazulu said:Edit 2: To the people saying they don't have enough good games, I reckon they do. Let see, we got SSB Brawl, LoZ: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Okami, No More Hero's, Mario Kart Wii, De Blob, Zack & Wiki, Super Mario Brothers Wii, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Super Paper Mario Wii, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and I can't remember the rest. But yeah, I think there is enough.
I can understand where your coming from but they are decent games and they are still very popular and because the Nintendo Wii is a current generation console I reckon it should have it's own list. We can just have a quick vote or something, I don't really care how it is done as long as it's there.Nova5 said:That entirely depends on your definition of good.Nazulu said:Edit 2: To the people saying they don't have enough good games, I reckon they do. Let's point out the following:
Twilight Princss was also on Game Cube
Okami was on PS2
Splinter Cell... was on some other system, forgot which. Don't care either.
Call of Duty: World at War... Not exclusive, looks worse.
