Wii doesn't have the same sort of online that the 360/PC/PS3 do, so it probably doesn't keep track of what people are playing.

The problem with the Wii is that it really has no merit to it other then it's unique playing ability. It has very little in Nintendo made products, but instead cheap 3rd party games that seem to copy each other in the form of sports games or..sports games.

That is of course ignoring such titles as Muramasa, The Conduit, Boy and His Blob, Deadly Creatures, Boom Blox, Zack and Wiki, House of the Dead Overkill, Dead Space Extraction, Klonoa, Little King's Story, No More Heroes, de Blob... I'd go on, but I think I've made my point.

It seems this thread has degenerated into a 'Wii iz teh suXXorz' thread.

I don't think you quite got my point. I gave the Wii credit, but I also went on to say that most of the 3rd party games are the same generic copy of each other.

Never once did I say that the Wii sucked. In fact, I enjoy the Wii and happen to own one and play it quite often.

Alright then. My apologies.

However, the same could be said of any console. For example, FPSs happen to be pretty big right now. Especially ones with regenerating health bars, a la Halo. So guess which genre clogs the arteries of the HD consoles? FPSs. And they tend to be pretty samey as well.

No need, I'm just glad I could clear that up. :D

And I do agree, it goes for many consoles. However, when it's brought to mind, Wii just seems to be the popular choice when it comes to 3rd parties. I'm not sure how to explain that however. : )

I think it's because the Wii has the highest number of games. Since it's the easiest system to develop for and the most popular console by far, pretty much every crack-pot game designer thinks they can make a buck off of the Wii. Thus we get such tripe as anything Data Design Interactive has produced, or the moronic non-functioning minigame compilations.

Wii has had no decent games come out forever.
So everyone will list No More Heroes, Mario Galaxy and Zelda. No need for a list then :p

How many good games would you say is 'enough'? I think the Wii has plenty of high-quality games.
There may be some high quality games, but not as much as the PS3 and 360. If I said "Name 10 high-quality games for all 3 systems." I could name 10 PS3 and 360 games off the top of my head easily but it would be a tad bit harder to name off 10 Wii games. Maybe that's just me, but when you take the sheer power of the 360, PS3, and the PC, the Wii just can't compare.

With a bit of research, there are actually almost the same number of high-quality games on Wii as there are on the other two consoles (using Metacritic as a source, of course). Plus when it comes to exclusives, the Wii has both the best and the most.

While the system is less powerful, that isn't what we were discussing. We are discussing games. And the Wii has many.

Well this is also a matter of opinion as well. I think that Borderlands is a much better game than Mario Kart Wii or Super Mario Galaxy. I also don't agree with many of Metacritic's ratings. I mean, the Wii is a decent system and all and I don't really have anything against it, but I haven't played my Wii in months. I'm much too busy occupied with my 360 and PC games to bother with it.

It's alright that you have your opinion. When most people say 'high quality games' they usually mean 'games with high ratings'. So pardon me if I mistook your meaning.

The difference here is on the other hand you had crap tons of excellent titles that only the PS2 could boast, Wii? Not so much.
Name three that aren't Final Fantasy or racing games.
Ok you're on.

1.) Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil (Loved that platformer)
2.) Tekken Series including my personal favourite Tekken Tag
3.) Jak and Daxter: Precursor Legacy
Bonus!) Soul Calibur 3 (I personally stand by this one being the best in the series)
Bonus! 2) Shadow of Colossus (You just can't beat this one)

Not to mention the system had entire access to the original Playstation's library, which is a haven of excellent games that I could play all day.

I could go on and on and on until I'm blue in the face.

I laughed when you said that Tekken was an excellent game.

Most Wii users don't synch there Wii with there Internet connection. There also aren't many games that encourage Multiplayer on the Wii and the only two I can think of are Brawl and the Conduit.

Edit 2: To the people saying they don't have enough good games, I reckon they do. Let see, we got SSB Brawl, LoZ: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Okami, No More Hero's, Mario Kart Wii, De Blob, Zack & Wiki, Super Mario Brothers Wii, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Super Paper Mario Wii, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and I can't remember the rest. But yeah, I think there is enough.
That entirely depends on your definition of good.
Let's point out the following:
Twilight Princss was also on Game Cube
Okami was on PS2
Splinter Cell... was on some other system, forgot which. Don't care either.
Call of Duty: World at War... Not exclusive, looks worse.

Also note the majority of the games you have mentioned were released not long after the Wii was first put out (and I'm not looking up dates here for that).

Considering that these all have severe graphical downgrades, and the Wii doesn't (or rather didn't until six months ago) have 1:1 motion control (hence it handles like ass), these titles are hardly noteworthy. Re-releasing something that already existed, with more flaws, hardly constitutes a worthy buy.

I had a Wii for a while, alongside our 360, PS3, and gaming laptop. We bought it about a year ago, thinking we'd give it a fair chance. It turned out, it took us all of a week to play through all the decent games available that we cared about (myself and two roommates). From there, it was sold for the sake of saving shelf space.

I don't see why not. I'm not a big fan of Wii but it IS a current generation console.

I can understand where your coming from but they are decent games and they are still very popular and because the Nintendo Wii is a current generation console I reckon it should have it's own list. We can just have a quick vote or something, I don't really care how it is done as long as it's there.

Don't forget, definition of good is an opinion. I'm not the least bit interested in all these new FPS games because they all seem the same to me but I am not just going to say it's crap because of that.

And as for what you pointed out:
Twilight Princess - Doesn't matter if it is on the Gamecube as well, many of the games that are on the PS3 are also on Xbox 360.
Okami - Same goes for this.
Splinter Cell - And this.
Call of Duty (in general) - And this.

Other good games:
Mario Galaxy - definitely is good
Metroid Prime: Corruption - good
SSB Brawl - I hate this game but it's still very popular
No More Hero's - Shouldn't have to answer this
Zack & Wiki - Decent
Mario Kart Wii - hate this one too but still once again, very popular, must have done something right
De Blob - Another Decent game
And many more I can't be bothered throwing up. Even Wii Fit and other casual games can be voted for as well, they are still games after all.
