Well done, idiot. You are officially a flamer. Sorry, no offence actually meant, but you could at least give a reason as to why it sucks. I've played all three major consoles and own a PC and an Xbox 360, so I think I'm pretty qualified to say whether each console is any good or not. The Wii is just as valid a console as any other, regardless of what a few retards think, so I say it should definitely have a list, just like the 360 and PS3. It's only fair. After all, not everybody here is a hardcore gamer. Casual games are just as valid and fun to play as the likes of CoD and Gears of War and Borderlands...

To a degree. I admit I could have used better examples, but people always seem to think that the entire FPS and 3PS genres for the past few years are only enjoyed now by frat boys and the mainstream, when really they still count (at least in my eyes) as hardcore games. You just need to avoid the servers that are full of 13 year old twats. As I say though, I guess I could have used better examples.

Well, if the developers of the site have to put extra work into it because they can't access the data publicly like they can through Sony and MS then no, I don't think they should. It's a little used feature and doesn't warrant the extra time spent.

Good point, but I don't think it would really take that much effort and it's just so us Nintendo fans get more love here.

it should, but it won't because the wii doesn't have something like xboxlive or PSN, thus meaning they'd have to do a survey every year or so to keep it updated.

I would have no problem with the Wii having it's own list, it is a current games console after all.

However, perhaps it doesn't have a list at the moment because (I would think) the majority of people who own a Wii are not the type of gamers who would go onto a games website again and again.

I can easily see not only from this review, but from the sudden surge of posts everytime Yahtzee says "the Wii sucks" (which he doesn't actually believe to be true, as one can tell from his appearances on AG, but rather, he just wishes 3rd-party developers would design games properly for it) one can safely assume that it should have a list.

Yes they do. Read the above. A better description might be "people you know who have the Wii don't go on the internet. I could say the same thing about the 360 and the PS3, since my friends who own those don't come here except to watch ZP, and only I and a Wii owner post, and I'm also a Wii guy.

To those who say there's nothing good on the Wii:
Up yours. I say there's nothing good on the 360 or the PS3 by your standards of "good" then. Or perhaps some people are predisposed to hating other consoles.

The Wii doesn't give the site ad money:
This could be true. And if that's why the Escapist has no list for it, they will also never receive money. First comes the list, then comes the ads. Not the other way around.

Certain developers don't take the Wii seriously, much like many types of forum-squatters. It is important to remember that most of the hits at the Escapist may not even belong to posters, even if they belong to members, and statistically, most people who have a console have a Wii.

There should be a list.

I'm sure I'll get quoted a million times by people spouting off Super Smash Bros and Super Mario Galaxy, but the Wii just isn't up to par with other consoles that it really couldn't have a list. You know that there are more games for the Wii than any other console? And almost all of them are quick crappy minigame collections that third-party developers throw out there to make a quick buck. I know that the Wii has some good games, but not enough good games. That, and the majority of Escapist users don't really like Wii games as much.

The difference here is on the other hand you had crap tons of excellent titles that only the PS2 could boast, Wii? Not so much.

But the reason there's no list is that the Wii's online is a tad under developed thus there's no way of tracking anything they do like XBL or PSN, hence to lack of a list.

Yet another difference is that the PS2 is 10 years old, while the Wii is only 3. There was a ton of worthless crap during the start of the PS2, but after time, the devs started to flex their muscles more. If the Wii is given that much time, I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii recieves that many great titles as well.

I'm fairly certain that these statistics are determined by games that are most played on their respective platforms.

With the Nintendo Wii there's no way to monitor these statistics as the online features of the console are too simple and primitive to allow monitoring what games people play, and even if that weren't true, not many people use their Wii online.
