Two classic songs off the top of my head. I'm not a fan of rap. But to say that drug songs are a rap thing is just ignorant.

This is one of my favorite songs ever. Off-topic? Perhaps, but thanks for posting it, I haven't heard this song in years.Novs said:
Ha, very good. I accept you.Mr. Gency said:How can anyone sweep Biggie under a rug? Have you seen how big he is? Maybe if you had a big enough rug...
OT: You can obviously find good new rap if you dig around enough, but old school is superior.
I'll add Johnny Cash to that. From memory the songs narrator even calls a woman a ***** and shoots her.TheAbominableDan said:artanis_neravar said:But when it comes to rockers it is more subtle, at least in my experience

Shut up, the Stig doesn't talk, and besides he only listens to morse code and vuvuzelas and shit, not rap music.TestECull said:I say quit arguing and put some Zeppelin on already.

But seriously, sorry everyone. Couldn't help it.
I know that debate is done, but Tupac is the better rapper, but Biggie is the better lyricist.LarenzoAOG said:Me and my friend, the same friend who I argued with about whether Biggie Smalls was better then Tupac if you visited that thread, finally settled that argument and we both came to the conclusion that The Notorious B.I.G. was indeed the better rapper, but then he made the statement "Any of today's rapper could sweep him under the rug," so now we're arguing about wether Old School or New Scool rap is better, help put this to rest, and feel free to put some videos on here if you feel it helps.
For this thread we'll assume that Old School rap is anything before 2004, I don't know if thats neccesarily true but I also don't really care.
EDIT: I grew up in the 90's so anything before 2004 is old school to me, that may not be so true for the older rap fans on the thread. Just thought I'd clear that up since a few people have disagreed with my rap dating system.

This speech is my recital, I think it's very vital...
