Well, as expected this thread has yielded a rather large and diverse collection of answers, most striking of which is that apparently some folks would like a thread on cannibalism, among other things.

Really though, I appreciate you guys taking the time to post a reply even though (yes, I'll say it again) this has been done many times before. I'm glad to see so many sensible opinions and am also amused by the results of my poll, which came out almost equally on all options (NEVERs not included).

If anyone has any questions about dutch law, my personal experiences, or anything else, let me know!

Cheers

Not really. Asthma, for one(though I'm not sure about if Asthma can last or if you can grow out of it or whatever).

So if I were to try it, I'd prefer someone bake it into cookies or brownies... Maybe literal Pot Roast!

Oh Cannabis... I came into the thread thinking it said "Opinions on Cannibals"...

On Topic: NO, I don't intend to ever use it.

Eh, I know a few people who've done it. I've never tried it, but I guess I maybe would sometime out of curiosity.

Ah, the drug-hating trolls are out in force by the looks of some posts.

I'm neither overly for or overly against it.

I was a regular user for about a year and abit, towards the end of that time frame it was having a very large effect on my emotional and mental well-being. I quit and now only use casually. Never pay for it, i get it free like many things.

I think it's a choice you have to make yourself and know not to over do it, as with most things in life.

Keep safe out there!

Cannabis is only a drug on technical terms.
Drug-A chemical substance, such as a narcotic or hallucinogen, that affects the central nervous system, causing changes in behavior and often addiction.

Cannabis is a plant, just a tobacco is. The only real harm that comes from marijuana is the same you would get from inhaling any carcinogen. If anyone tells you they are addicted to weed they are weak-minded. Marijuana does not cause physically dependency. Anyone can become addicted to anything mentally. If you are a weak enough person you can be addicted to anything like hot dogs, dandelions, or even Marijuana. An actual addiction is based on the harmful withdraws that take place when the chemical isn't being supplied to your body. Marijuana relives stress and can help mood problems. Also, people who suffer Chemo therapy get relief from their symptoms while under the influence marijuana.

So the answer to the initial thread is NO. I do not smoke weed. I'd love to it was a great part of my life that made things simpler and it helped control my panic attacks, but marijuana isn't for adults. Jobs and passing drug tests are much more important than getting stoned with your buds. If it is legalized then I would be happy to participate, but for right now I cannot participate, but I honestly wish that I could because really If the whole world smoked pot there would be no wars.

I've tried it before, yes.

I did it a few times and it never once did anything to me, so I just never touched it again.

If other people want to do it, let them. I just won't be around them when they're using.

I tried it and I'm glad I tried it, but it's not something I'd make a habit out of.

And yes, someone ought to explain why those guys were put on probation. That's a bit ridiculous.

Tried it a few times. It's quite calming, but completely unnecessary for a person of my temperament and health (great for high-strung people and those with major internal disorders, though). I prefer to drink a few beers. Excellent muscle relaxer, helps with all my old injuries.

I,m from Holland and I like my government to make up its mind, its current policy is kinda like this:
"cannabis is illigeal but we arent going to do anything about it" it either needs to be legal or needs to be taken care of IMHO. I have never tried any type of drugs and dont realy feel the need for it

If it's legalised, or someone I trust was offering, I'd try it. I have no inclination to seek it out though.

People can be HILARIOUS high.
As well as dangerous.
Wrong. Not on Cannabis. Yes certain controlling substances can make a person more threatening, but this is not one. And you can't fault people for calling you out on such a blanket statement, you should've taken time to clarify.

it is not addictive, and its awesome. The best way to describe being high is that its like your chillin level just went up to 99. I mean if you try it and don't like it then thats not a problem, im just saying don't knock it till you've had a go. And tbh, most drugs are just as if not less dangerous than alcohol, the idea of any substance being illegal is absurd to me and a violation of a persons rights, the only drugs i don't ever want to try are coke, heroine and probably crystal meth, because they really are dangerous, but i still don't think they should be illegal.

Back to the point though, weed is not a dangerous drug herb and everybody whose done their research knows it, hell, it recently got bumped up to class B from class C in england because it's apparently a lot stronger than it used to be, but you know what the police do if they catch you smoking weed? as long as you don't have enough on you to count as 'possession with intent to sell' they just take it off you and try to scare you with a street warning. Thats it, because everybody knows its pretty much harmless.

I smoke it from time to time. Never caused me any problems (except for that one time where I ate too many cookies), and I've never felt addicted by it.

The cannabis... it is evil...
Never tried it, never will.
It would stop me from giving blood if I did sully myself with it.
I count it as sullying because it would feth up all of my plans if I touched any drug.
But cannabis really stinks, which is enough excuse for me to stay the hell away from it.
I don't want to mess myself up with it like so many others where I live.
Mind asking what plans? I've assumed political. I can't help but pry. Also, I'm not sure how it messes people's lives up. As long as you have a strong sense of free will and can control yourself there should be no addiction.

OT: I would try it if I was offered it, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. After seeing results to show that it isn't medically addictive and that it wasn't nearly as lethal as nicotine or alcohol then I see no reason to not try it. I'm not going to condemn something I have no experience with. Also, what's the point of living if you restrict yourself to following laws that define what you can choose to try as a person?
