I wouldn't be shocked by either.
I don't get this. I am entirely tolerant of Bronies to the point of brohoofing when my friends tell me. That would be where I imagine people would be the most shocked to find their friends watching.
But porn? Why do people have this weird stigma about porn if supposedly everyone watches it?

I have walked in on my friend looking at rule 34 of ponies ..I dont know where this places me. But I would go with ponies usually...
Depends on the friend, but for the most part Ponies. Almost everyone watches porn, not everyone watches Ponies.
To be fair, for many they're basically identical other than their rarity (heh) - short moments of getting lost in something fun, followed by intense shame.

This caught my attention - mind if I ask you your opinion on what 'type' of person this is? About ninety percent of people I know watch porn, so I can't really think of a 'type' to put them all under.kouriichi said:

neither really.. i have some weird friends out there... they would probably watch porn ponies if they had the chance as well
When I first read the thread title I thought I would have to make a choice between the two. I was pleased to find that the actual question was much easier to answer.
Given that I watch Friendship is Magic and know that at least two of my friends do as well, that would not be awkward at all. Walking in on them watching porn, though, would be rather unpleasant for both of us.

Depends... some of my friends have kids, in which case ponies are not only acceptable, they're a god damn saviour of mankind. They hypnotise small children and let the parents actually breath for once.
However a few friends of mine in their mid 20's watch it because they like it. For some reason. Which eludes me. I ask them why and they go 'cause it's AWESOME'. Erm. OK. Why is it awesome? The answer of 'because it is' when asked that question in this situation is hardly self explanitory. They've made comments that 'the animation is really good'. Well fine, I'd take that as an answer if you were in any way an artist or animator, but you're not.
I've seen the show plenty of times while its occupied small children and the thing is - it's VERY much a kids show. It's not like Shrek where it's full of subtle adult jokes the kids miss but we all laugh at. It's a CHILDRENS SHOW. Aimed at children. With stupidly obvious 'look this is the moral spelled out' sections at the end.
I'm a big believer in letting people do whatever the hell they want so long as it doesnt hurt anyone else, so if you want to watch a childrens show as a grown man/woman well good for you. But I do find it a little disturbing as I see no reason why someone would do so.
Porn... well porn is for adults. If I walked in on a mate watching porn then it would be awkward yes, but not disturbing. If they were just watching and not.. playing along.. then it wouldn't even be that awkward - I'd wander in and take the piss out of them, as friends do. It's a perfectly natural thing for adults to watch and we all know the reasons for it. So there's no reason for it to be disturbing.

Well I've known guys to watch porn together which I never understood, so if I were a guy, I probably wouldn't care. If they had they were touching their no-no places while watching porn, I'd be much more horrified at that rather than ponies.

My friends have used the Internet for longer than six minutes, I wouldn't be surprised if they ever watched porn.
It would be a awkward if you walked into your friend's room if they switched from ponies to porn to cover up them watching ponies.
