No. Opinions are based on universal standards and those who think that one show is better than another deserves anything they get. Opinions are just what the anarchists are trying to make us believe exist before they steal the moon! Is that really what you want?Zekksta said:Seinfeld, I love the humor.
I really like friends as well, but I prefer Seinfeld.
Also, are you calling your friends idiots because they prefer Friends? If you are, I think calling someone an idiot over a personal preference and opinion of a television show is far more idiotic.
It was on BBC 2, although it wasn't well advertised. The also incredibly funny Larry Sanders Show was on before it, which puzzled me since it has a lot more swearing in it. Personally, I liked both shows and are a cherished part of my misspent youth, but Seinfeld was waaay better.SPARTANXIII said:Friends. At least it was SEEABLE in Blighty!
(Yes, Friends had a known place in Territorial TV in the UK when it was on, while Seinfeld....not so much)
But I'll join the write in vote of Frasier as that is genius and still makes me laugh despite having seen it so many times.Bassik said:Frasier all the way, man. That show was awesome.
You have never watched more then a few episode of friends have you. There was conflict between the main character a lot. Like the time Chandler got drunk and made out with one of Joey's sister then forgot which one he made out with. Or the time Joey built the entertainment center that was to big for chandler and his apartment then tried to sale it, but was tricked into getting locked in it and the prospective buyer stole all their other stuff instead. Or the episode where Monica got sick off Joey and chandler's pet duck and chicken. Hell the we were on a break thing lasted forever. then there was the one where pheobe "changed" her name to something something bannana hamic Mike her husband wanted her to stop calling herself that but she refused so he "changed" his name to CrapBag in retaliation.bz316 said:Seinfeld. Not only was it waaaay funnier than Friends (which sucks), but it got it. It understood and portrayed life in a vastly more realistic way. People were usually jerks, the universe dumped on them, their group of friends frequently quaralled for various stupid reasons. In Friends, group conflict would only be shown briefly for a few episodes when someone got cheated on or something. In Seinfeld, the four of them fought with others and even amongst themselves pretty much every episode for stupid crap that anyone else in real life would fight over due to the inherently petty nature of humankind. Seinfeld wins because it got real life, it got how the universe worked. Plus, Friends sucked, so its not even really a contest.
