I find "manliness" to be a societal concept that discriminates against men by attempting to paint them in a specific manner and asigning roles to them, effectively encouraging gender roles.

Some the things I do are considered masculine some feminine and some gender neutral by others. Some might consider my tendency to violence is masculine, some might consider me Singing to be feminine, I don't really identify either of these things in such a way, I don't consider violence to be manly as there are plenty of violent Females (You know meat eater Ants? Those things that charge into battle and eat their enemy alive? They're pretty much all Female) and I don't consider singing to be feminine because there are plenty of Male singers, that and I've never sang in high pitch, always low.

Bravíssimo, I couldn't agree more.

Now, on the topic at hand. WHAT, in details, would be a Man Law?

Well, there are specific things that I can think of that are masculine in nature that I wuold consider, maybe not essential, but would add towards a mans manliness. Overall though, unrestricted is manly. If a man admits to liking MLP and dressing up as a woman on the weekends, then he has a lot of balls. So I guess I'd consider that manly.

Real men aren't afraid to do, say or watch ANYTHING.

Like my uncle said, right before climbing Everest in only his pants!
and like you said, whilst having Rainbow Dash saluting as your Avatar!
this is actually the best opinion. its also 99% similar to mine! so, what the Spartan said.

A real man is manly not because he follows the set rules or actions that we define manliness with, but because he does these things purely on the basis that he believes such actions are the right thing to do.

Example: A man should not protect women and children around him because society says he should, but because it's what he thinks is his duty. That is manly.

The smaller guy retorted however, that in order to be Manly, you can't allow yourself to be restricted by anything, Man law or no. That to restrict yourself from anything is to be considered a sign of weakness.
I would consider the smaller guy more of a man than the other guy. The other guy sounds more like the frat guy douchebag that some of us try to forget exist.

I don't even give a damn about this "rule", I will do whatever I want whenever I want, meaning if I want to go commit genocide against a small town in drag then I can and will do so.

Not that both are connected, mind you. I watch it and I didn't win female tendencies with it. But that's just something I'm adding, nothing more.

Yup, still the same - two hairy legs, a set of marbles and my beloved boingswatter. Guess I'm still a man.

It's fun engaging in silly discussions about manliness with your pals, with all the beer-drinking meat-loving Chuck-Norris-praising goodness it entails, but taking yourself and the topic seriously while doing so is silly in and of itself.
Why would you need affirmation about your manliness from someone else? That speaks of brittle self-confidence.

Wasn't implying that they were. Was just the first two relativley common non-masculine things I could think of that some men chose to do for the example.

I'm a man because my genitalia say I am, and I am a man for being able to act with reason and civility. The question should be not be what constitutes the man as "manly" but what makes him a man in comparison to the dogs.

MLP is a quite manly show, thank you very much. Because only men with real balls can admit to watching it.

I don't consider myself a manly man (tho i have read the man rules (was gonna post a link but i forgot the site) and the amount of effort it would take to live by the man rules is ridiculous)

Yes. A real man should follow the "man rules", just like a little *****. +++SARCASM CORE SELF TEST COMPLETE+++

Seriously though, a dude who goes around acting a certain way because he thinks that'll please other men? Freud would have a field day with that.

Well, can't really argue with that for two reasons. Would contradict what I first said. And I've never actually watched it.

You, sir, are an honorable elefant.

*shakes paw*

I suggest you watch at least one episode. I truly isn't that bad.
