Poll: What console are you playing Skyrim on?

I think i will play this on my ps3. I have a personal preference to play multiplayer game on my xbox and single player on my ps3.

Like 3/5 people, the only 'console' it should ever be played on, a PC. Lets face it, despite how basic its going to be, it should still be played on a PC, like every other Elder Scrolls.

PC because of mods

Too right, I second this actually, love moding these sort of games (when done well, and elder scrolls usually is). I know a friend who got so obsessed with modding, he never finished the game.

when and if I play it I will do so on a PC for reasons abound, a pretty big one being I have none other. My rig is pretty snazzy as well.

Also. PC's are not consoles, and the term you should have used is platform.

My PC is good enough, but I played Morrowind and Oblivion back in the day on the Xbox and I would feel wrong playing it through on the PC first (I have both Morrowind and Oblivion for the PC too, fyi).

PC is winning with 60pct of the vote but they're making the game for consoles and giving it a "PC port"
This is the ONE thing that Bethesda has done to piss me off, ever.

It can easily be argued that they did the same thing for Oblivion to be honest. That said, so long as it comes with mod tools, I'm satisfied enough. If they can do something to make the game less dreadful to play (and I say that having spent hundreds of hours in various Bethesda games) I'll be even more excited. The weak point in all Bethesda titles has always been that they have absolutely no idea how to make any particular task actually interesting.

There will be modding on the console versions this time around, but I suspect they will be filtered and regulated.

Better graphics.
Higher resolution. (360 only does 720p and PS3 rarely has 1080p outside of exclusives).
higher frame rate. (360 & PS3 likely capped at 30fps)
Higher field of view.
Better inventory management and controls. (If Bethesda doesn't fuck it up)

Mods are still the most obvious reason. I never use to mod games either, but once you start It'll literally up the replay value of the game a huge amount.

PC version all the way

EDIT: Also, fan made patches because Bethesda suck at making their game work.

I think most people just don't care, since they'll be getting it on PC anyway. Besides, you might be able to use mods on console, but you won't be able to create them without a PC.

Bethesda did say the PC version will have better graphics.

Plus you should look more closely at mods, there are often ones that will improve texture or models while leaving the rest of the game unchanged.

Also, on PC you'll get a choice of controls - it'll have the usual mouse & keyboard, and you can also attach a controller to a PC.

I'll play it on my 360 because that's where all my friends are and I'm going to want to play while talking to them so we can share cool stuff we just found, but I'm also getting it for the PC so I can take part in mods

PC. i think anyone who doesnt play a game like oblivion- that is, a readily moddable game- on a PC is a idiot. at least half of the fun of these types of games are the many patches and mods avalable- reballances, fan items and models, quests, areas, and even up to entire campaigns. I mean, look at the oblivon mod http://www.nehrim.de/indexEV.html

Its not a mod. its a entire coversion built on the oblivion engine. Thats -AT LEAST- two games in one, not considering all the other mods and quests out there.

There is no doubt in my mind that Skyrim will have such support when it comes out. And those poor fools on PS3 and XBOX360 are going to miss out.

Xbox 360. Rendering the land of Skyrim would, I fear, be too much for my laptop which does a decent job with Crysis on Low/Medium settings but is ultimately not a gaming PC.

Besides, I prefer the Xbox control system and I never play mods anyway
