I love my potato so many good games.
But no PC all the way and then I got a wii for the local multi player...well I would if I had a TV I have tried to do a few things that connect it to the monitor but no real success...and I will be dammed before I pay for a TV licence.

Both. Although I haven't been using my consoles much lately due to a combination of lack of funds and lack of games of games that interest me.

Off topic: And incidentally, a Mac is a PC, you know considering the acronym "PC" stands for "Personal Computer." Just putting that out there.

A good idea to include the option "More than one".

My primary platform is PC or 3DS (I play a lot when I am waiting for the bus so that might count more than my scarce few hours with my PC). However I have a Wii and a 360 and I play with those sometimes. The PC is just more convenient because I do a lot of work on it too so it's always right in front of mw when I am taking breaks unlike my consoles. Sometimes I play 3DS when there are patches downloading to my PC games since my 3DS is usually on my desk... I am impatient when I'm on break...

Oh, I also have a Wii U on pre-order.

I mainly use my PS3, but use my PC for PC only games like Mount and Blade, strategy games, and Xbox exclusives that get PC ports. I also use my iPhone for Game Dev Story.

I play on my Xbox 360, though sometimes I will boot up my laptop and play some TF2.

But mainly on my Xbox.

I voted PC.I own a wii and 360. I also own a Mac but don't game on it. I just got Halo 4 and will be getting back ops2. That said I love my laptop and will continue to play games on it. I spend hours of down time playing SC2. they may go down with the games in getting but I wont just stop. I will most likely sink into my new shooter(s) for while on the 360. I expect to be bouncing back and forth on the PC and 360 so i wont burn out anytime soon.

I think PC gaming would get more attention if the system requirements didn't shift. I have a list at least a dozen long for friends that would buy SC2 if they had a better Computer. but it is easier and in most cases cheaper to just get a console. But I believe everyone can be happy with one or the other.

I play on a PC, Xbox, PS3, and I have a wii that I havnt touched since the year it came out. My gaming is done predominately on my PC because IMO I get the best experience on it. Modding communities and huge option menus just allow me to play most games in the way that I want to play them. Plus customization is king on PC

Elitism high five!

Yeah sriously the following are hooked up to my TV right now: Ps2, PS3, PS1, Dreamcast, Wii, Gamecube (bequietitisn'tredundantbecauseitlookscool!), Mega Drive.

I also have my pc and use that for playing things I can;t get on formats I own or things that are best on there that my PC can run (I am upgrading it soon I promise! I have work now! I CAN AFFORD A GPU! : D).

Also a DS and a 3DS and various gameboys dotted about.

No Xbox bcause I'm not paying for an Xbox (and fucking Live) just for Halo.

I mostly play an Xbox 360. I got it because for a while there it really, really looked like it was going to have better exclusives than the PS3, honest.

PC - I generally prefer a mouse and keyboard to a controller for virtually everything I play. I do have a XBox 360 and PS3, but they are somewhat collecting dust; I wouldn't have bothered with the PS3 but they do have some exclusive titles I wanted to play (alas; I hate the way 'exclusives' are used to bind people to consoles).

I'm genuinely surprised at the majority. Whenever I read discussions, it sounds like every thread is full of XBox kids.

Either we have some very quiet or seriously forgiving PC gamers on the Escapist.

Also, I love throwing this in whenever the PC/console thing comes up: I only have a PC, because consoles are too expensive. Seriously. I can't afford a console. But if you need a PC anyway (and you do), might as well make it one capable of playing games well. Which will last almost as long as a console generation. And gets 90% of the games anyway.

It varies... lately I've been playing a lot more on my consoles.

But in terms of sheer amount of hours spent, and individual videogames owned - PC for sure.
How is the PS3 better for large games than the Xbox 360? I've heard it said before and never really understood it.
EIDT: I'm an Xbox owner. I was late arriving on the current-gen gaming scene, so I bought what all my friends had.

PC and 360. At the same time often, because that's how I roll :p (seriously though they all have their place, I find the 360 is easier to relax on though that's likely down to me spending most of my dayjob sat in front of a PC so when I get home I dont really want to spend all that time sat in front of another much better PC :p)

Honestly it's not really, I've owned both consoles and I actually prefer my 360, the online service may not be free but it's so much more userfriendly.

However there is one signifigant point in the PS3s favour and that's that it's drive is a BluRay drive. Now that lets you watch BluRay movies obviously so yay for that but the more signifigant factor I found was that basically any game that is on multiple DVDs on XBox is generally on ONE BluRay on PS3. Basically I've never had to deal with disc swapping on PS3. But honestly given the lenght of most games that come on mulitple discs... having to get up from ones chair and ACTUALLY move once in say, a 2 hours period is hardly a critical failing ;)

I suspect in the context the original poset said it though he means big triple A titles tend to get released primarly aimed at the consoles rather than the PC and either ported to PC later or released at the same time but having very obviously been designed with a gamepad in mind rather than keyboard and mouse controls or sporting horribly ungainly DRM/Bugs that more or less ruin the game experience (Assassins Creed Brotherhood in particular I've heard some very bad things about the PC version being near unplayable at launch (I cant speak from personal exeperience as I've always played the AC games on console)
