I was wondering what video cards are owned by the escapist community owns and by extension what manufacturer they prefer. I personally own a 'Winfast A7600 GT 256 MB (nVidia GeForce 7)' before that i only used to have a 'ATI Radeon 9250 128 MB'.

I really, really despise ATi and AMD. I had an ATI card that constantly crapped out, and both of the brands confuse me with how they name their cards.

My laptop has an Nvidia GeForce GT 120M 1GB. It's amazingly good.

An ATI Sapphire 512MB something or other. It was expensive back in 2006, but it's still playing the new releases.

Honestly it's so long since it went in the machine I've forgotten what it is precisely. I only bought it because the Nvidia that preceded it burnt out spectacularly, complete with smoke and hissing!
In it's defence lightning may have been involved

Seconded, all I know is that its deceptively good for a non-gaming laptop.

Nvidia GTX 260, it started at 1Gb, and I overclocked it. I can't remember what to, but it's pretty good. It deals with ArmA II pretty well anyway.
You can't exactly overclock the size of your RAM, now can you?

Sigh... Running off a laptop, I'm unable to upgrade. So I'm stuck with an
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330.

Nowhere near top of the line, but it can run most games at default settings.

You can add paging files to your overall RAM. Its not much, but it can make a difference.

Be glad you have that and not what I'm running atm, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD. I can't run most games I own at default settings

NVidia GTX 260.

I can't stand ATI, I had a bad experience with them a few years back and refused to ever buy another one of their cards, and have followed through with that promise so far.

My work computer is rocking 4x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB ( I wanted 4 monitors and didn't realize I only needed 2 of these for that but oh well can't change it now)

At home I've got a single ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB
