On topic, I find Jeff Dunham to be not that funny, and a sell-out to boot (Disney Channel? C'mon!).

All his laughs come from a racist terrorist puppet and a cynical old man, which aren't entirely original if you ask me.

No, Ricky Gervais actually isn't funny. He was vaguely amusing for the first year that he was active, and since then he hasn't changed. Just the same tired hapless crap, same false wit, and he still tries to hard, which makes it even worse.

Robin Williams and Lee Evans have no place in stand-up, and Lenny Henry is average at best.

I've only heard of a few in the poll (being British and all), so I voted 'other'.

I'd have to say Michael McIntyre, Russel Brand or Ricky Gervais. I don't like any of them (though Gervais' acting is better than his stand up).

My favourites include Bill Bailey, Ross Noble, Frankie Boyle and Al Murray.

Seriously though RG was responsible for finding the funniest man on the planet Karl Pilkington, though you would have no idea who that is.

Gervais is a talentless oaf. Seriously, if you put him up against your other favourites such as Izzard and Dara, the man doesn't even raise a smirk. Try looking up some real comedians. Hell, Merchant is funnier than Gervais.

Considering Karl Pilkington as the funniest man on the planet though...That's just funny.
