Where did this all come from? I have no problem with this show, in fact I plan to watch it sometime soon. The thing is that before last week I'd never heard of it. Then out of freaking nowhere it's an off day for the internet if I don't see at least 3 ponies or pony references. This sort of popularity doesn't come out of freaking nowhere!

I don't know, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's the snowball effect. People get hooked, tell their friends. The friends get hooked and tell more people. So on and so forth,

I would be surprised and disappointed in the Escapist if this was really the first pony thread, but anyway Twilight is being seriously underrepresented here.

EDIT: Rarity and Applejack are also being underrepresented. Why does everyone dislike the ponies I like, and vice-versa? Kids these days have no taste in ponies.

This is what we call 'Viral' in popularity terms. It's mind blowing how popular the show became so quickly, but I think the creative team makes the best case for the show. Faust and McCracken are very talented, as well as the VAs.

I'm just thankful that this is from good word of mouth rather than the obnoxiousness of something like EA's marketing.

1. No, trust me I thought so awhile back as well until I made a thread asking what was with all the Pony Avatars and then became one.

2. It isn't an anime.

Yeah, I really don't get it either. I tried watching it but it's really not that great or funny. Give me Johnny Bravo any day. I'd watch it if there was nothing else to watch but sadly there is.

That scene bugs the hell outta me. I mean, the trees aren't actually doing anything threatening. They look intimidating, sure, but they weren't moving, or talking, or baking evil muffins, they were just kinda hanging out pullin' faces. I get why it was put there, but I woulda done something like the Swamps of Sadness from Neverending Story. Same solution, but with an actual threat attached.
