Meh I used to swear when I was pissed off. Now I swear because their rather easy words to use. Shit and Fuck has so many different definitions, It's so easy to fit them into a sentence. I mostly use them when I'm bullshiting around with friends.

I swear only to put emphasis on what i'm saying. I rarely use swear words and i never use a cuss as the only word in a sentence.

To bait someone into a trap. My favorite thing to do is get a parent yelling at me because I said fuck around their kid. Usually they start swearing (oh the hypocrisy) and I respond with "why is it wrong to say these words?". They can never answer me. At some point I offer money if they can tell my why it is wrong. I walk away with all my money, and they walk away thinking very hard.

I swear when im in pain or i am angry so for emphasis.
Studies show that actually increases pain tolerance.

Why fucking not? I usually only swear when I'm trying to be funny, though. When I'm angry I use unnecessarily long or complicated words.

I have a few reasons why I swear. It's one way to emphasize what I'm trying to say, sometimes clean words can't properly portray how I feel. Other times, I swear just because it's fun. Nothing like some colorful language to spice up an otherwise dull conversation. In the end, they're just words.

Mostly to stress my opinion, and other times because I just feel like it...

You should've included an "emotional expression" option there. I.e. When i'm intently angry i'll use swearing as emphasis, but when i'm passive i won't usually swear. It's a special occasion thing. =P

EDIT: I'm Irish, and can therefore ride the stereotype wave as far as I FUCKING DECREE.

For emphasis and because it's a fairly innocuous way (in most people's company) to let off steam in frustrating situations.

I never swear, shit, fuck, ****, *****, they are all just words. Just air passing through your larynx and with help from your tongue and teeth forms syllables and words which are just a series of noises which are there to help convey a point or imply urgency or just to make a sentence sound more fuck'n spiffy. online, however, I curse like a drunken sailor, 'cause I'm normaloly drunk when I post... yar!

For emphasis on what I'm saying. But when I'm working, or around kids, or at someplace that swearing isn't good, I tend to say toned down stuff like dang it, freakin, or rat farts!

"RAT FART'S!!!"

I also say swear words from Star Wars expanded universe canon. Like kriff [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kriff], kark [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kark], choobies [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Choobies], shavit [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shit], and wagyx [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ass].

Because swearing can be a FUCKING art.

But only if you know how and when to use the correct FUCKING word.

I don't really swear much, I don't think that there's anything wrong with it I just don't usually see the need to and if I do see the need to swear then I will

For emphasis. And when I'm pissed off at something. Like you might expect. Trouble is, you get used to it and say something inappropriate in front of someone you really shouldn't...
