I do get that some people think they're repetitive, but why does it call for hate and stupid profanity? Every DF video, 90% claim that they suck. When will people learn to be more respectful and less judgemental? Oh, and while I'm on it, a little survey on what the Escapists think of them.

because its freaking impossible to beat their songs on expert in guitar hero.

Here's something I've noticed about the interwebs, when people hate something they broadcast it to the world, the people who like it stay quiet because there's no use arguing with someone who's already made up their mind....and think that everyone needs to know what they think.
Oh, good. It's not just me, then.

Frankly, I think their songs are just more fun on the lower difficulty levels, but I feel that way on a lot of the games' music. I just don't have fun paying exclusive attention to the notes and none to the music.

...which isn't to say I'm not a member of the "2% Completion" club on Through the Fire and the Flames. That went by too fast even to be humiliating...

Their music is repetitive, they are terrible live, it's all studio magic, just because you shred the hell out of your guitar doesn't mean you're a guitar god *cough* Yngwie Malmsteen *cough* Good music comes from great musical talent, and great songwriting, which many bands these days are terribly lacking. The only active bands I can truly believe that invest in songwriting are Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Bullet For My Valentine, Rush; the list can go on forever. The songwritng is the soul of music, that's why Led Zeppelin is the most epically beautiful music I've ever heard. Unless they get their shit together and invest in the songwriting, all they'll be remembered for when they disappear is Through The Fire And Flames.
"The only active bands I can truly believe that invest in songwriting" in the same sentence as "the list can go on forever"? You, sir, or ma'am, as the case may be, have just made an ass of yourself.

I love Dragonforce. That's all I have to say about that.
Then please allow me to rephrase that:

"To name a few, the active bands I can truly believe that invest in songwriting are Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Bullet For My Valentine, and Rush"

that should clear it up

Better, gramatically and sensically speaking, but I still like Dragonforce.

They can play fast and that's why so many people like them. But no matter how fast you play if you don't make good songs with good lyrics, melodies and other songy stuff they are still going to be bad.

I heard somebody once say that they would be good if they were 12 year old kids playing in battle of the bands then they would be great. But as a real band they are just not that good.

Those dudes have got no soul, and as far as lyrics go, it sounds like a read-through of Eragon (If it was written by a 13 year old in a Pixie Stix factory.)

You know that if you went to one of their gigs now it'd be full of scene kids who have only gone to see them play 'Through The Fire And Flames' because it's on Guitar Hero.
That's amazingly true. Although Guitar Hero is the cause of popular songs in 10-15 year olds (younger even?) One of my brothers actually surveyed a bunch of teens and found most people who know/like Metallica only know/like it because it was on Guitar Hero.

HELLO? DIO? AXEL RUDI PELL? JOURNEY? (wait, what?) IRON MAIDEN? HELLOWEEN? DREAM THEATER? REMEMBER THESE GUYS? come on people, they rocked! where did the golden years go? it is up to Dragonforce to reclaim those lost years, i wish they would do a much better fucking job about it though.
there are two lead guitarists because their solos are too complex to do alone, Sam and Herman Lee (asian dude with seriously long hair, wtf?), and they both can "shred"

*snip*
Emphasis mine.

I would argue that Iron Maiden still rocks. At least they did last summer when I went to a concert with them again. And it would be silly to claim that DF in any way are up to the standards of Dio and Maiden. And the golden years are called the 80's.
Iron Maiden also have a shit load of guitar players but I think they manage to take advantage of it and make memorable music.

Also: Journey?! For real? :)
i don't think you get where i'm coming from here.

of course dragonforce isn't up in Pantheon of Rock drinking liquor of the gods alongside the worlds greatest power metal bands, that's a complete load of bull. i'm not saying that you said i said that though, i'm just saying i didn't say that. plus, i also said dragonforce needs to do a much better fucking job at what they're doin.

what i was trying to get at is that god damn rap and hip-hop made people forget about good music (namely b/c their brains got blown out during a drive by shooting..... while they were filming the music video) that's why i listed those bands. yes, iron maiden still rocks, but i feel like no one arund me cares, wtf? they're awesome! kanye east or whatever the hell his name is can go suck a cock while two drumstick are inserted into his asshole!!! Journey's up there as a joke, and b/c of their songSeparate ways (worlds apart) it's got metal riffs and the rock opera of power metal, everything else is sterotypical 80's.

yeah, iron maiden's got like (1,2,3,4, ) 5 guitarists, and they don't all play the same riff every song either, lol.

but the more i've been complaining about rock's downfall, i'm actually starting to see an uprising, which i think started either when the GH franchise came out or when AC/DC's album Black Ice came out. i'm seeing more kids at school wearing rock t-shirts, GH is over the top popular with GHWT and Metalica expansion, better songs are on the radio, BRUTAL LEGEND BEST GAME EVER COMING IN ROCKTOBER, and i've been seeing less rap and hip-hop in general

The band may be satire, but that doesn't make them good.
Passionless songs, abnormally cheesy lyrics, (Even for Power Metal) repetitious/lack-luster instrumentals that rely on a gimmick which wears thin faster than Herman Li can jerk off his guitar.
They are to Power Metal as Busch Light is to beer.
Why would you ever drink it, when there is so much better?

Undeniably, they're talented, but the music they play just doesn't vary, and they have no charisma whatsoever. And they're self-rightous pricks, as evidenced from the music video for Through the Fire and Flames.
