The problem with the question is it's not whether you want to join or not it's whether you fear death enough to give up your freedom to live another 100 years in service of the Dutchman. For me I would gladly accept the cold embrace of death and whatever comes afterwards if there is anything.

Dying would seem like the obvious choice on this one, but in the end it would probably come down to what kind of death would wait me if I refused. If it was a slow and painful starvation then the fear of that would probably make me join, but if the Davy Jones would decapitate me instantly after refusing then I'd rather die.

Its not 100 years of awesome coolness. Its 100 years of deformed, grueling, backbreaking labor. And then you die anyways.

"Hey, do you want me to kill you, or do you want me to torture you first, then kill you?"

Hard choice man.....

Thank him for the offer but decline. I love sea-food too much and I wouldn't want to be a cannibal.

What happens at the end of the 100 years? I forget. Don't they just die or become part of the ship (which is pretty much dieing?)

I'd either die or offer him 200 souls in my place.

I have no qualms about killing people for my safety

I'd rather choose death than to be bound to him and work non stop for 100years.

On the other hand,if I were a pirate,I would bargain my way to get extra years on my plate in exchange of other souls.

As long as I get to become an awesome fish monster sign me up. Saying that I'd probably end up like the Asian hermit crab dude which would suck. Can I be a cross between the Moray Eel and Hammerhead guy?

Thinking about it, I'd even serve on the original Black Pearl under Barbossa. Undead zombie thing under the light of the moon, but I keep all my free will and thoughts, that'll do me nicely.

Plus I could sing this and not get any weird looks like I do when I'm working.

Nothing is worse than death. It's the only true unknown. I'd serve, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

I'm not that fond of life to begin with, so if I have to spend life working on the flying dutchman, I'd rather die, thank you.

What's the point to life without freedom or pleasure?
But can you hounestly say you're free now? Can you really do whatever you want because you want to?
Only until the cops find me........

OT: I wouldn't serve. I mean it would be tempting, but considering that I know how this is all gonna turn out (with me being absorbed by the ship) then I'll take death.

But if it was serving on the original ship, where you're just ferrying souls then I might serve

i totally would... really if your going to die you might as well spend 100 years longer then die.
sure you look like crap but you get to fight things with swords while being invulnerable!!! plus i'd be a total suck up to davy jones so he'd love me and not give me the shitty work >:D

I'd rather not have the random sea creature mutations.

Could end up having a sea urchin bollock or a tiny fish fin hand.

Damn everybody's so quick to throw in the towel. C'mon, a hundred years, who knows what kind of bargains you can strike within that time. Cowards choose death.

Well in the movie if he's in a good mood he just slits your throat. If he's in a bad mood he beats you to death.

It depends. If I get turned into something cool and not something creepy and half fish then sure, otherwise i'm out.

I would Die because suffering for an extra 100 years is not a very attractive offer.

Also, Fail OP for seeing that the majority of people aren't answering like you think they should and just declaring that they're wrong.

Maybe some people actually have the balls to accept death, rather than cowardly running from the inevitable.
How am I fail? Just the way some people were answering made me wonder if they were actually thinking it through that's all. I had no idea how people would answer.
