What happens at the end of the 100 years? I forget. Don't they just die or become part of the ship (which is pretty much dieing?)
They don't actually say but you can assume that they become part of the ship.

I'd serve. Hell, working my normal job is basically serving the same people, doing stressful mess and staying in the same environment for years. So, I think you get used to it. Either that or you go hopelessly insane. I guess you'd half accept it then.

At least on the boat I'm constantly seeing new places, even under the surface, and I could finally lose my fear of drowning. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll end up a decent sea creature mix and not something stupid looking.

Knowing what I know now about that...HELL NO.

a hundred years as a mutant fishman, working my ass off, getting flogged for any mistakes, unable to do anything? ....Somehow...That doesn't sound appealing.

well there IS an afterlife

I guess the only incentive to serve is if your bad enough to deserve to go to hell, as I think davey said "do you fear the judgment?..."

then again the flying dutchman doesnt seem too different from hell.....

Sure, life of a pirate would be great.

Ok honestly I wouldn't serve him since I just prolonging my feeble coward life just to hang onto it. Ok you mention he stick a sword at my throat, so what? What the worse can happen kill me or torture me? I would rather take my chances of heaven, hell or whatever the afterlife hold for me.
