...we're gamers. we destroy humanity every day.

oh, you mean real life. i choose not to answer that until after story time, so here goes:

i was driving home from work yesterday, southbound on one of the major thoroughfares in chicago. suddenly, there are lots of car horns, swerving, etc. i'm thinking that there's a deer or something on the road, but the universe threw me one better: there was an old woman driving the wrong way down the road. she literally pulled her car onto an off-ramp (which she would've had to pull a u-turn to do), drove northbound (for a fair amount of time, based on how long the reactions of other drivers were going on), and got pulled over by the world's most dumbfounded police officer. i had to pull off too, because i couldn't stop laughing.

so, do i want to waste my time on exterminating humans when they do such a bang-up job of it themselves? probably not.

Nah. Someone else will do it eventually and I'd rather not have to take the blame.

... Or I could be the puppet-master to that person... that might work...

no way
what point is ruling over the ashes of humanity plus i might get lonely and ashes don't make good conversationalists and they cant do basic tasks like get me a glass of water

plus using nuclear weapons to destroy humans you are going to have no animals and few other plants left either and what of all the creatures that live in symbiosis with us would you kill them also ?

no far better to simply thin the population of those who wont be expressly faithful to their new master probably a virus

100000x NO

I don't care how bad it's been for humanity right, because it's worser hundreds or thousands of years back. At least in modern days, people can make polls about "would you destroy humanity" without getting their tongues cut, repeatedly flogged with rusty iron-tipped whips, then put to death via mutilation.

Back then, they have problems with smallpox, now it's nonexistent. Today, we have problems with pollution, global warming, etc. Tomorrow, some dude (you may have killed if you choose to kill humanity) may have found a way to help eliminate those. It takes life for progress, not death.

I'm no fan of even eliminating certain "unsavory" groups in humanity, as even in those groups, there are a few decent dudes that may do good for society. Heck I'm not a fan of killing certain people either, whether their intent may be good or bad, as some of them, or maybe the son or daughter of any of them (or even one of their sons or daughters), might be born one day to invent a way to cure AIDs, turn a third world country into a first world country, saved a few lives as a doctor or nurse, or be the person who helps the guys who do, like be that carpool dude that helped make the other person's life easier, or be that maintenance dude that cleans your crap up and make the whole place disease free for you to thrive in.

Heck no matter what little reason, you don't know that that grumpy bastard at the apartment above you actually gave $10,000 of his retirement fund to charity for the blind or something. If you choose to destroy humanity, it's one big major fuck up for both you and for all humanity to even think of choosing to destroy their own kind, as you killed a lot of people who has more right to live than you do, you sick, genocidal bastard :p

If it was something like all humans instantly vaporize painlessly then sure because what would happen to reality if there were no humans to observe it? Would anything exist? Would it matter? Do humans define the universe by observing it? Can we ever find out?

Nah.
They're already doing quite a good job on their own. I'd leave them be and see what interesting methods of self destruction they can come up with. It'll sure as hell be entertaining.

No fuck no, stop bitching about the environment, human life is the only life in the universe that matters, quit wishing your species was dead and get with the program, Earth'll die one day with or without us so we should take what we can now.

Given the chance? In a heartbeat without hesitation and with no regrets. However only if it didn't damage the rest of the world (like erase humanity without harming the creatures of the planet). We messed this planet up, and even though I love my life, I can see the damage that we have cause and it pains me. But I'll never have that opportunity, because I'm very lazy and will never get around to it.
