RAM. I'm rocking a whole 2 gigs of DDR2. I bet none of you can match that. My computer is a beast.

Highly mediocre describes my CPU as well. Still better than my RAM.
I have 3gb of RAM, sorry man.

I would have to say that my processor skips a bit, even if I'm playing a simple game like Civ III. The FPS drops sometimes when things move to fast.

I actually don't think there's a weak link in mine, though I don't really play many high-spec games. That said it runs the Witcher and Crysis OK.

My processor is way behind the game. Everything is dated but it is the worst.

My rig is a few years old, but I can still play most games on max settings. Personally, I think the weakest link are the fans. They sound like there's a jet engine taking off in the room.

Back in the day (two years ago) we frankensteined my desktop, getting it a new graphics card, more RAM, and a new power box to run it all. It was fine for awhile, but now it's slowing down considerably. Fallout New Vegas was fine-ish, and it still kicks the crap out of TF2, but unfortunately Skyrim is going to be a little out of my reach, I feel. :( Sad day.

That damn DVD-reader only works when it feels like it, and even then it only works half the time.

Guess why I spend so much money on Steam...

My laptop (my only computer) has an intel mobile 4 series express chipset family... In other words, I cant play most games. And the ones I can run at ass* frames per second. Good news is that I recently won some cash on the lottery so I'm shopping around for something better.

*ass being anywhere from 1-8

RAM. A 400MHz FSB on a 2.6GHz processor isn't doing anybody any favors, that's for sure. Which, I suppose, means that the next thing I should upgrade is the board, but eh, it works for me for now.

In terms of speed, it's my HDD. [2x 1.5TB 7500RPM drives]. In terms of reliability, it's my RAM, I had 4x 2GB RAM and 2 died. I'm a little worried tbh. I'm running an E8400 [2x3.00GHz], ATi 4870 HD w/ 1GB VRAM otherwise so they'll be fine. [Decent enough, not the latest system but it does what I need it to do and hasn't refused to play any games yet. :) ]

on my laptop, my graphics.

My desktop, probably the RAM, it's lower speed DDR2 ECC. The processors are 4 Years old but they're Xeon 2.8GHz.

I'll replace the CPU soon-ish.
Been with me a long time, was super expensive once :p

8 GB DDR3, cushy high end SSD, new GPU... for the rest I'm good. ;)

my noobie ATI Radeon HD 4650. It can run almost all games, but for Bad Company 2, it lags a bit when someone smokes or tank explode (on low quality).
Everything else is fine.

This is another one of those threads where the answer is totally ambigious and depends on what you want to accomplish at a certain time.

You might as well have asked what the best form of transportation is. I can tell you then that if i plan to travel long distance, I'll take the plane, train or car. If i want to travel a few kilometers, I'll just grab public transportation. I want to get in better shape or not pay anything, I'll run or take my rollerskates/bike. If i hate getting wet, I'll pick the car when it's raining etc. etc.
It's not ambiguous at all. You have a PC? What part if it is dragging down YOUR experience?
When i boot my PC, the boot time (especially for loading background tasks) is dragging down my experience, in which case the weak link is my hard drive setup (no RAID, no SSD).

When i play PC games, graphics can't always be set to highest, so thats my video card dragging down my experience.

When i do chess analysis or video encoding, analysis speed is dragging down my experience, in which case more CPU power is the solution.

The question is, in fact, quite ambigious. A much better question would have been "Which part of your PC would you like to upgrade the most" (or wish you could upgrade). In that case, i would reply that i want an SSD setup.
