I always give tons of gold to homeless beggars in games so I don't have to in real life.
Usually I find the "good" path to be more believeable, so I play it first, then go back and play the "evil" path later to see how it turns out. Most games that offer multiple paths have a laughable "evil" path though. Either there's a massive over-reaction (seriously, is mideval law enforcement really that good?) or under-reaction to your evil deeds.
