I doubt I'm known. I don't have a particularly high post count, and I don't really post regularly. I'll typically go through occasional bursts of avid posting, but then just return to mainly lurking.

As far as I know, I'm pretty much a nobody. I don't get very much attention, and I don't really get involved with user groups, although I am a member of a couple. I generally post in gaming and off-topic threads. I don't post that often, either; I've been here for a few years, and even then I only have around 1300 posts.

I'm fairly sure no one notices me here. If they do, it's probably because I've said something they see as stupid and or controversial, and then they'll forget about me again.

Sometimes it feels like I can kill a thread simply by posting in it.

I'm certainly not a regular as far as posting goes. I find it easier just to lurk in the darkness. Watching. Ever watching.

I fancy myself quite unknown. Had I engaged in RnP some people might know me and my opinions on the topic, but after experience with other forums (non-gaming) I tend to stay away from what people call "the basement".

I do know some of you from my lurking, so here's how a random (read: my humble self) Escapist sees you.

Only as a name I notice quite often. I guess I just like the user name.

Someone with an opinion and reasonable one at that. Howler with sense.

You post like a 80 times a day for a month and then disappear completely for another usually yeah? XD
Yeah, I tend to become obsessed with a hobby or site for about a month or two, then let that fall into the peripheral while focusing on something else before eventually moving back to the original thing after some time has passed. I expect the Escapist will be back in the vogue soon :p
So we won't be able to tell if you're dead or just learning card tricks until a few months later?
Well, I usually stick around a bit, I mean I'm still here posting this right? The times where I disappeared completely I was working abroad in places with limited Internet and not enough time to converse on here.

A critical element of stealth is not being recognized. In that, at least, I am stealthier than even Garrett. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief_(series)] [small]Plus I don't walk around in tap shoes. I mean, sheesh.[/small]

I am part of few chats here, I originally was only in the Forum Games subforum, but then checked out the others and talked there. I'm actually not sure how noticeable I am, I rarely post, I changed my name, and continually change my avatar with no fux given to a theme. I think I'm probably a "people recognize me" kind of guy.

That is odd, you should probably get that checked out with a doctor.

Likely for terrible reasons.
I am starting to notice you because I keep wondering where that avatar is from. I do have some suspicions but I don't know for sure.

No-one's life is so basic that it can be summed up in a motto, I say. But one that would fit part of me rather well is "Always have his suitcase packed". I don't have much presence here. I recognise most of the posters, particularly the dear old bigshots, but I don't involve myself very much. I imagine that it'd feel like taking something out of the suitcase, with the understanding that it'll have to be found and stuffed back in the suitcase when I'm off.

But until whatever relocation I'm always for some reason prepared for occurs, I'll be happy to stick my oar into other people's business every now and then.

EDIT: and flash-edit the more obvious crimes against spellning.

I think the only people that remember me will know me as one of the innumerable Dark souls fans on the site. Other than that I doubt it.

I'm pretty sure I'm an unknown. A nobody, if you will. I doubt anyone even recognizes my username. (a name, btw, I'd love to change but it seems someone already has the one I'd like to use)

That is until I have a disagreement with a fellow poster. At that point they remember me long enough to yell at me.

Shortly after it's back to being a nobody.

Maybe I should be a spy for the CIA...

I know a handful of generally cool and friendly people recognise me.

I suppose a few people probably recognise me in the "Ugh, there's that mouthy prick again" kind of way.
And here's me....debating which of those two I'd fit into...

I'm the amazing invisible J-pop artist, the only things people remember about me are my avatar and the fact that they don't like my posts.

And even then they don't actually remember until they see me post again.
It's the numbers, man. They throw people off.

Should have gone with odds.

albino boo said:
Perhaps 5 or 6 people recognize me but thats it. I don't do user groups and and I have 20 years on the average user so my views are not the liberal consensus, so most that recognize me don't do so in a positive way.
Would you accept a neutral perception?

I have had disagreements with you here and there but I've never viewed you in a negative way.

Apart from the user group I flung my shit around posted in I doubt anyone would recognise me. Then again I reckon I've been here long enough for it to be a possibility someone recalls my name/"face".

Although thinking back on some of my posts maybe it's best if I wasn't recognised.

As someone who is really good with names and faces, a lot of the people here who said "No one knows me." Don't worry, Elfgore knows you.

Honestly, I don't know. I'm sure a few people notice me around forum games and the user group I'm an admin for. On the forums, I really couldn't tell you. I tend to post a bunch in OT and gaming, but my opinions aren't that unusual, so I may go unnoticed.

I think some people might possibly know who I am but I never pop up on the popularity threads. I post semi-regularly and am edging ever closer to my 10,000th post on the forums. I'm not really hear for networking or friendship as such though...I just like to come onto the forums and pretend I know what I'm talking about. Also procrastination.

HOLY FUCK! THIS WAS MY 10,000TH POST!!! Dammit, I wanted to do a first-impression review of either Killswitch or, Vampire Hunter D...Shit...oh well...oh right, back on topic there might be some people who recognize me as writing reviews with odd references towards food.

See, it's funny since I just realised who you were, for you have changed your avatar. And I just came here from another thread (the Saints Row 3 vs 4 one) where I spent about half a minute staring at it.
