I used to be a fairly active member of The Escapist, although to speak of my notoriety amongst these digital halls I cannot say. I would never consider myself to be "popular" by the traditional meaning of the word, but I would like to feel that some people recognize me here for my username alone.

I change my avatar fairly frequently so I know I have that working against me, but I've been trying to come back to The Escapist forums more recently in the hopes that there is actually something noteworthy to talk about other than ethics and #Gamergate-type stuff (I really, really don't care).

Nobody seems to mention me in threads where I'm not already present, but I don't hold it against anybody. I'm a fairly humble person. If my presence here amounts to "just another user" then that is fine by me, I think.

I wouldn't say I'm too well known. I don't think I post often enough or am a member of enough usergroups to keep a high enough profile.

And I try to avoid most flamewars and direct arguments if possible, which from what I can see is another way to gain notoriety.

Which is just the way I like it:)

I mostly post on the news forums; I've only recently trudged into the Gaming and Off-Topic discussions. As such, I very much doubt that I am recognizable. I am not, as they say, the "hot shit."

I do not exist, and that's fine. But two or three people said I had a cool username, so maybe two or three people recognize me.
You'll always be the person who asked me if they could colour a drawing of mine.
haha yea. I think 2 days later I woke up with some eye infection and focusing on the same spot for too long was making me cry, literally. Took me quite a while to get my eyes back to normal. I chose 2 drawings, but life's keeping me busier than usual, so I haven't finished yet.

Don't worry Johnny, I still remember you from the Pokemon forum games we had going awhile back! I really miss those days.
Hey man, me too. I think I killed the thread when I made it into Draw That Pokemon.
What's the statute of limitations on necro'ing a Forum Games thread anyway?

I recognize 43 of the people who have posted in this thread either by name, avatar, or both. I think most of the people who have more than 1000 posts are probably noticed WAY more than they think they are.

I'm extremely doubtful that anybody would recognize me considering how infrequently I post, but I do think if anyone did recognize me it would be for my avatar.

I don't anyone really recognizes me on here, mainly because I haven't really participated much or for long on the forums. I've visited The Escapist for years but just recently registered an account.
I recognize you from your posts in that thread on Sweden's potential sexism content advisory warnings. Your avatar seems fairly memorable to me.

Hero of Lime said:
I'm pretty sure I'm not well known amongst the regulars besides a few specific people. I am curious if people recognize my user name, or my avatar more. Admittedly, I know more users via their avatars, except for a few certain users who switch their avatars a lot, but post enough that I know their names.
I recognize your name more than your avatar, although I don't think you've changed your avatar since you've started posting here, but the pun in the name is more memorable to me.

Pretty sure I'm only recognized by people I've talked to before.
Didn't you used to be a mod back in the day? I seem to remember your name being in blue.

I'm pretty much a ghost unless I think I have insight on something that might actually change some opinions, then I'll comment. Also if there's ever a chance to complain about Chapter 4's escort mission in Resonance Of Fate, I will ALWAYS take that opportunity. Always. Surprisingly I get to complain about it more often than you'd think.

No one on the Escapist recognizes me because I'm usually a lurker and I can't keep the same avatar for more than a month.

Most people recognize others by their faces, and avatars are the faces of the internet. It's like changing your face every month!

Aren't we all >_>

OP: I recognize a fair bit of the posters in this thread, but I dunno how many recognize me. I'm probably recognized by the people stuck in the same forum role-play as me (pray for their souls, the poor saps) but other than that, I have little to no clue.

It ended a little more than a year ago, I have a feeling it would definitely be necro'ing at this point.

Yay! My stupid pun name is memorable to at least one person. :D

I recognize your avatar! I've seen you post enough recently to notice it.

I think some people recognize me? I'm not posting all the time, but I have been around for ages so yeah.

I hope people do I guess.

I don't exist and I pretty much never have.

Having an inability to make friends might be part of that.

A lot of the people on here who say that probably no one recognizes them, as a long time lurker, I do. Shit that sounds sinister.

Me? As a newbie no one will recognize me. But I rarely post and didn't join for a long time because almost anything I want to say is said better by someone else, so I never feel I can add to the discussion (present one discounted of course).

Oh woe is me...

Probably doesn't help that this is the first I've had in at least two years that isn't an anime girl.
Yes, definitely doesn't help - usually even though your avatar was different it was at least consistent

Tbh i'm the only reason people come here. I should really be charging them for my posts.

I would love to write on the video game industry, but I don't feel that the general cv requirements are likely to result in a healthy career, so it'll have to wait until I can open up some bullshit venture capitalists firm in the video game industry to give myself more credibility.

Considering the last two threads that were asking people to address another users (I think the titles were which users you want to take to the bar with and something about thanking somebody on here), it's pretty much seal the deal that I'm a nobody.

These goes my ego as it seen being the site on here the longest or having ALOT of posts means nothing (sure I'm not super old on here but I've been on here for over 4 years now when others register after 2010).

Yes I am aware that I'm not the most popular or socialable user on here and it does seen demanding/ selfish for me to want others for recognition but I used to think that I did matter to somebody on here even if it's just one person (what, this website means alot to me). I'm guessing I'm wrong about that.

*Sigh* great, now it feels like I'm asking for pity at this thread now, like if I can get any lower (well I DID wanted to be nominated for a community spotlight)...

I'd like to think some people recognize me but I'd have to start a poll to get exact numbers :p

I recognize a lot of the people posting in this topic so I'd say there's a good chance we know eachother just at different levels.

I think i'm kinda recognisable, I even have friends here would you believe. I think i'm sort of expected to post something about Persona 4 in a JRPG thread at the least. That or find an excuse to explain in detail the failings of the protagonist in Persona 3 and how he singlehandedly ruins the theme of the game.
After I started taking breaks from posting you usurped me. *shakes fist*
OP: I'm sure some people recognize me on here. Most reactions are probably negative.
