I know a handful of generally cool and friendly people recognise me.

I suppose a few people probably recognise me in the "Ugh, there's that mouthy prick again" kind of way.

Other than that, nah, I'm not well known. Just one of the howling mob.

I tend to do my howling in OT and Gaming. I'm in a few usergroups but I mostly just lurk in them rather than post (I'm hopeless at conversation without a specific topic).
No one would say that about you; that would get them banned. Besides, it might not even be true.

I think more people recognize my avatar than anything I might have posted. I type up a lot of posts, but only rarely click "post." I usually decide to just close the window instead.

I used to be more well-known. I used to post many, many times in Off-topic and Gaming Discussion every day. People knew me! But I stopped doing that for various reasons.

Now it's mostly just User Reviews people that know me. BUT THAT SECTION IS MINE!

Hah, presence? I barely exist. I'm mostly a lurker (and I do enjoy reading the forums), and when I do come out and chat, I largely blend in. I've only really had 2 or 3 PM conversations in several years too.

A lot of people here I recognize though.

Well I recognise - to varying degrees - pretty much everyone in the thread, many of you I feel I know a fair bit about as I've probably seen thousands of your posts and have quite a memory for that sort of thing.

As for myself? I lurk. 99% of threads I read get no response because someone has put my point across more eloquently and comprehensively than I ever could. Lately the only responses I make are when I'm really really bored. Like right now.

I guess it would depend on the section and I'm not a good judge of forum fame. Personally, I would prefer no fame over infamy.

I do want to know the 6 people who chose the top two options though.

Me? I am what I am.
The real question is for good reasons or bad reasons? I always want to make a thread where somehow you get the whole picture from people. The good and the bad... What? I like catching people talking shit about me for some reason >.>

Ditto. Especially for me since I feel I get to places late!

I'm pretty sure next to nobody here knows me. I've been posting less frequently lately, mostly because I haven't felt invested enough in most topics to actually reply to them. Also, I'm pretty sure that my opinions generally aren't controversial enough for people to actively argue against them, which probably makes my posts somewhat unmemorable.

That being said, I do recognise quite a few people in this thread. While I don't post that much, I read through quite a few threads, and there are definitely people who post frequently enough for me to recognise them.

I'm kind of a nobody around here, I'll admit it. I'll post the occasional funny thing (or at least attempt it, anyways) every now and again, maybe with a spoiler'd edited youtube clip to help illustrate my point, but all-in-all I'm just your average mid 30s, 6 foot 225 pound ninja. I lurk rather well out in the open, it seems.

Also, if anything topical relates to something that one of my top 5 comedians/social critics has said in the past, you can jolly well expect me to have a youtube clip for that, too.

I'm not well recognized here, mainly due to still being relatively new here and having a lack of an avatar, and even though I have been more active lately, I still don't think I'm that well known here by other people.

I have a shitton of posts, but all made a few years ago in chat groups for the most part. Now i mostly lurk around, so I pretty much don't exist anymore. I've also calmed down a lot, so I no longer say such stupid shit, which used to make up a good 85% of what I said. It's more a 63% mark now.
I doubt any of the newer people would recognise me.

I'd say approximately no one knows who I am. I mean I barely post so it's to be expected.

I think one guy complimented my avatar once. Which was nice.

You lurk more than you post? You joined after me and have posted a lot more.

I expect no one to recognize me due to the very, very selective manner in which I lend my opinions or voice to a thread (50~ posts in 5 years and 1 week), usually only posting if I feel my opinion brings up a new point of view or discussion point, otherwise I just read threads that interest me/ take part in polls without always posting.

But hey, I could be surprised though and someone might recognize my avatar or something.

Well this is awkward

Edit for context: I have about 90 badges, almost double my total posts.

I like to think that people see my avatar and think, "Oh, it's that HANDSOME ROGUE again. Here to bring comedic delight to us yet again!"

The reality is that there's probably a tiny handful of people who think. "Oh, that retard has an opinion this time. Whatever." While everyone else just skims by.

I like my fantasies more. More-so because I get on Escapist binges now and then and just sit here like this place is the new Facebook that's not terrible, and other months I don't even touch the website.

Also, @Zhukov ... I like your posts...

You're on my revenge list You seem like a decent person though I don't remember anything particularly splendid or horrible about you. You pop up in enough of the same threads that you have name and avatar recognition, though.

Though you used to have a different avatar, I'm pretty sure. If I'm wrong, maybe I'm off on the avatar recognition.

I only tend to get noticed when I'm being grumpy about something, which probably makes me look a bit grumpier than I generally am, but I'm cool with it.

I notice most of the bigger named Escapists, but I'm not one of them. I'm just watching. through your window with binoculars.

Well, a lot of people do seem to assume that liking Metal Gear in the first place prohibits someone from being reasonable.
I'd rather have my strange, strange Japanese bullshit than anything 'conventionally' good. But I don't feel the need to validate my own opinion against others. And it's not like I don't like the conventionally good things.

Basically, I don't have polarised opinions, which isn't quite this forum's forte :D
