He said Amish too. He also disregarded the entire point of my post where I said that even Amish may have stumbled over porn. I did say that, but yet he seems to want to correct the last statement where I say that there may be some among them that haven't. I am merely annoyed because the point of my post was ignored.
Okay, I think we keep missing each others meanings. He said Amish (not referring to the VCR), then he said Luddites (referring to the VCR). So he's not wrong, just poor at wording sentences.

Onto your statements misinterpretation: There may be Amish who managed to avoid porn during their Rumspringa (that's the leaving the Amish world ceremony) who remain porn virgins. It's a possibility, you are correct. There may even be Americans (I don't want to single out a geographic people, but saying white people feels more racist) who've spent their lives with internet access and live in the 808 area code (that's the porn area code, or at least it WAS) who have avoided it. You were right, I agree, lets move on. You can even respond and get the last word.

I'm 22 and I've caught glimpses of it but I always scroll quickly away. I guess I might qualify for that study. My knowledge of female anatomy was so limited I didn't know women have 2 holes down there, I thought they had one like men.
Now please don't take this the wrong way, but a lack of that knowledge at that age seems... dangerous to me. Sexual education is important. Even if you plan on being abstinent your entire life. It's pretty key if you ever decide to have sex.

Of course I don?t know how this compares to a mans obviously, no one really does.
The reason I compare it to a man's libido, is because, well, women don't seem to have sex on their mind nearly as much as men, and since when a woman is on her period, and this is the time her sex drive would be heightened... Whatever. -.-
Males think about fucking because it's enjoyable and hardwired into genetic code. Sex = reproduction = more chance of offspring = more potential sexual partners = more sex.
Females think about sexual intercourse because a maternal instinct is hardwired into their genetic code to reproduce, care for, and nurture more partners to reduce strain on her body.

It's a numbers game, really.

Also Mick, I agree with Sheep in that most women (amongst those I know) refer to their "period" as the period when they're bleeding and emotional and cramping.

The horny time is the time when my friends cell-phone blows up. Apparently his fuck-buddies have synched up their cycles so as to drain him on a monthly basis. Then he's happy-go-lucky for about 3 weeks, then he gets mad, then he gets happy. They've trained him into his own Man-stration cycle.

When you think about all the weird fetishes in the world and consider pornography as anything that someone can get off on, as opposed to simply a two people having sex, then its impossible to find something that's not pron to someone. Don't think about that too hard, you'll give yourself nightmares.
Aaaand nightmares. Rule 34... eww. Lawnchairs.

Yeah, I thought I covered this in my first post which is why I replied with a sarcastic comment rather than a more thorough explanation. I didn't misinterpret, I was simply annoyed that only a small portion of my post was regarded in the reply while the majority of my post was saying that even the Amish probably would encounter it during their Rumspringa.

No I would not. I wasn't arguing the validity of the statement, but commenting on the state of confusion caused by the wording. I don't think Yoda has been misunderstood to a point where two people are fighting about it on a forum. Then again...

My sweeping generalization guess would probably be that 1% of the user-base of this website has probably never watched porn before.

Also, 87% of statistics cited are made up on the spot and dogs can't look directly upward.

not sure if joke or intentional made up statistic.. anyway
there may be animals incapable of looking up,
but this one can and i'm reasonably sure most others can too

The reason I don't do the above is that the fucking comment rape-train is now like half-a-page long, and also, I usually edit out things I agree with. That way, people can see the point I'm bringing up to debate. Perhaps I'm still new here and that's not protocol. It just seemed ergonomic. Sorry for all the confusion.

I think it's a reference to the movie Shaun of the Dead, the question if dogs can look up or not is brought up one several points there.

Basically we have been discussing things that has to do with wording rather than actual disagreements here. If I don't misunderstand here I think we agree here. Also no need to apologize, no discussion is without at least a little bit of confusion and I'm guilty of causing some of it myself.

Not at all surprising. Even the few people in this thread who say they've never seen porn, will have seen porn. It's near impossible to spend a lot of time on the internet without accidentally stumbling onto a page with naked ladies, or even getting a saucy pop-up appear. You'd have to be so careful with what webpages you visit, and blunders are almost definitely going to happen, because porn is everywhere.

Well, not males ones apparently.

University of Montreal researchers wanted to compare the attitudes of non-porn watchers to regular viewers.

But researcher Professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse told the Daily Telegraph they simply couldn't find any.

"We started our research seeking men in their twenties who had never consumed pornography. We couldn't find any," he said.
Source: http://www.metro.co.uk/news/802879-porn-virgins-do-not-exist-claim-scientists

After reading that I got a bit curious. Did they just not look hard enough, or does access to the internet guarantee porn usage? At least for men. So, query: Are there any men on the Escapist in their twenties or older who've never watched porn?
My only beef with this (other than not consulting the omish, dah) "consumed"? Yes I bought magazines, and tore the pages out, and then ingested them. God, what a stupid word to use in that sentence.

Here's too 20th century technology making all our lives better, amen.

Oftentimes, the only thought running through my head when I watch or read something that's a bit strange is "Somewhere, somehow, someone is getting off to this." And they TOTALLY ARE, even for things marketed towards the family. For instance, A 1970s Doctor Who companion once groped and posed nude with a Dalek for an Australian porno mag.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have surreal horror that makes the entire concept of sex terrifying in Eraserhead. If you are into gushing bodily fluids, there's a LOT of symbolism there that you can apparently use, as long as the constant industrial banging noises, aborted cow fetus baby and weird tumor singing radiator lady don't completely turn you off. If they don't, you're probably a very disturbed person already, but don't let that stop you.

That said: Best. Research. EVER.

I'm pretty sure female porn-virgins are hard to find as well...

You could probably find some in some Christian/Jewish/Muslim fundamentalists. Although, they might have seen a sex scene in an r rated movie, so.......it all really depends on the definition.
