Picked up prototype this afternoon, and due to heavy thunderstorms, I've played it most of the day. Since "normal" difficulty was the hardest option it gives you the first time around, that is what I am playing on. And let me tell you something, THIS GAME IS HARD AS BALLS.
After over a dozen attempts to guide a truck (which was still shooting at me since I am the common bad guy) to said point, I was faced with a giant demented Hydra. I hit that thing for 45 minutes, and took off about 10% of it's health. Idk if I'm doing something wrong, or this game is just far to tough.

Ok I really have to do this.
Prototype is hard, thats what she said!
Now for the real question I heard that the more you progress the more powerful you become. But that might apply to the bad guys too.

I'm gonna have to play the story at least three times. Once more on easy without dying and without eating more than 10 civilians and once again on hard (that will be so infuriatingly difficult). Also I need to finish the story I'm on now.

i beat that mission on normal, as far as the tank goes, just steal one of the other tanks and keep the hunters off the tank. For killing the hydra, use full body armor and blade, attack it than grab it when its stunned, than it goes into quick time button mashing of the x button, itll bring his health down, after that just run around and attack while running away to gain health, the military than breaks in through the wall and keeps all the other mutated things off u. after that ur attacks for some reason do alot mroe damage to the hydra. im almost done with the game, this was the hardest mission so far... i died 6 times before beating it. o and btw, all the other missions are really easy, just use a helecopter for every mission

Have you tried tenderizing it with a hammer?

There might be a weak point, or maybe you can only damage is during certain times. Omega Pirate in Metroid Prime was like that.

There's no Karma balance, everyone's a child killer.

Besides that, I have every useful upgrade in the game, and it's still impossible.

Nothing like giving tips to boss fights using mechanics from another game entirely. Did you try using a hadouken? That seems to work in street fighter.

Not to knock you... or your playing ability, but did you ever consider the possibility that maybe you're just not very good at it?

I was thinking more generally. It's pretty common to see bosses that can only be damaged at certain times, so this might be one of those bosses.

Well, up to this mission, the game has been a cake walk.
If you play this mission on hard up to where I am, you'd know that it's impossible for me to be bad.

No, I'm hurting it whenever I attack, It's just doing about a mili meter of damage. It even has a nice little attack where everything goes into slow motion, and if you are hit by this wave of colorlessness, you WILL DIE.

"Picked up prototype this afternoon." What? Did Prototype suddenly come out and I didn't notice?

Seriously, did it?

Sounds like a combination of marathon boss [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarathonBoss] and nintendo hard [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NintendoHard].

Not much you can do about that. Try punching it in various places. Even if this doesn't do anything, you can release some frustration by punching it in the balls.

Sigh... Before you can hurt the actual boss, you must kill 3 MASSIVLEY healthed tentacles floating around. There are few attacks strong enough to harm them, and the monsters attacks knock you off balance when they're charging... After all 3 are down, you have a precious seconds to land some blows on the actual health bar.

Hace you tried throwing things? Sometimes a car to the face is what you need to give a boss.

It is far too fucking hard, I mean the fight with Elizabeth Green is ten different kinds of unfair.

She can knock you down

She can attack you with dozens of orbs that seek you out

She sends out the strongest level infected in waves of 3 which can also knock you down and deal massive amounts of damage.

She has a bullshit blood wave which knocks away most of your health if it hits, and it will because of all the crap that can knock you down

She can attack you DURING the blood wave, and knock you down, making it impossible to flee.

Edit: For the record, you have to use the bio-whip thing and lock onto the tentacles, while moving, and continuously use your long ranged attacks.
