Yes, in private.

"What you don't know can't hurt you" or something along those lines.

Considering that under the EULA for most MMOs, and WoW in particular, you've agreed to not engage in vulgar or offensive behavior, it's a pretty clear cut no no that you've agreed not to get your epic mount on in Goldshire.

That being said, there's nothing to keep you from sending tells back and forth to your heart's twisted little desire, or even creating your own guild for nothing but people that want to do that, and everyone replaying the Battle of Mount Hyjal, after deciding who gets to play Hyjal.

On the other hand, it is very easy to just /ignore people, or just report them for spam if you don't want to clutter up your ignore list. You can even just turn off the display of local channels, for that matter. However, the EULA is on the side of the folks who don't want to have to wade through that. It would be different if we were talking about folks who were just spammy, but clean RPers, but this crosses into a clear violation of what's acceptable under the rules of the game.

So, you know, don't just get a room, because we can still hear you down here. Take it to tells, thanks.

Only in private chats and stuff if you're really that pathetic.

I mean seriously, sex chat in WoW? Some people have no shame.

Sexual or excessively violent (WoW and other games are violent by nature) topics should be treated the way they are in real life: they should be discuss by consenting mature individuals in private. Going into a coffee shop and loudly announcing your latest sexual escapade with your friend in excruciating detail is just not right by doing it in private is one's own business. So long as a conversation is private or everyone in the game has shown they can handle it then there isn't a problem. I'd like you to find a game where everyone is adequately mature enough first though.

I chose "I don't play MMOs," even though I do. Rather, I play Eve. You're in a space ship, in space. End of story. :) You play eroticly through guns, and warp drive.

I don't like limiting players in games because someone got in a huff over other players doings. Oh darn, some people cybering. That's the peoples fault, not the games fault. At no time should GMs be on patrol for cybersexing individuals. If there is a child/teenager/youth in the house, monitoring that persons activity is the parents responsibility. If I want to cyber it up with some night elf over teamspeak, that's my deal. The only time a GM need be involved is if they're invited, or someone is making a public nuisance of the whole thing.

I just find it hard (no pun intended) to see how a public tavern equals a whorehouse on a rp sever. I mean traditional taverns are places you have a drink swap stories, maybe pick up a lass to take to a room and spend an hour getting out of your armor, i think these people are idiots that are just doing this stuff to annoy people period, no reason overtly sexual excessive chat should be in a public tavern hall.

Tho i also fail to see why kids are playing on an rp server. Rp servers are generally more mature i have always heard, but these kind of stories seem to squash that, i suppose with 11 million people there are any number of freaks that think rp means something entirely different than what it does, nevermind the fact that probably a good chunk of them are guys gettign their rocks off as females.

Let consenting adults do what they want. If this bugs some, just create an "mature" shard and let the saddos... err "sexual RPGers" do their thing there.
Then also create a "kiddie" shard where everything is filtered out.

Side-note: really wish there was another term than "mature" for porn. The two terms ought not be treated as synonymous.
Heh..one of my characters is labeled for 'Immature RP'. Because I don't take it as seriously as some folks do.

Role playing scares the shit out of me. I mean... I'm really nerdy, like extremely nerdy... but even I find role play to be completely ridiculous and embarrassing. Not just erotic role play either, all of it.
