Not that the Sims has ever stood for any sort of realism, but the medieval period for the vast majority of the population was a life of backbreaking manual labor from dawn to dusk on land you didn't even own so that you could just avoid starvation. At the very least, in the renaissance, there was a semblance of a middle class.

Roman empire.. yeah baby, Sims orgy parties; chillin in the bathouses, quelling neighboring sims rebellions and uprisings, Sims gladitoriums, buying and selling of other sims as slaves.. whats not to like

I would like the Renaissance period or the wild west.

Renaissance would be pretty cool. or the Middle Ages, but that would probably end up like a lot of other games unless it was comedic, playing off of the standard medieval fantasy world

As I've always said, (Mostly to my friends, who'll make a move on anything that moves)why limit yourself [to existing time periods]? I say Sims should try a steampunk setting, where all the furniture has the cool brass and copper coloring, and clothing is almost all formal!
