Well even though I wasn't alone in voting for it, I guess I'll be the first to say it here in the thread (Unless I missed a post)...
I voted Microsoft.
Nintendo:
Nothing in the Nintendo presentation spoke to me. I'm not a Zelda guy, I don't like handhelds, and I like Goldeneye how it is: On the N64. I think the 3DS is a great little handheld, as far as handhelds go, but I'm certainly not getting one. I learned my lesson when I had my DS: I just don't ever play with handhelds. So maybe impressive for handheld and big Nintendo fans, not so much for me.
Sony:
The first half was boring. I like Kevin Butler where he belongs: In commercials. The Move was alright, though. I did like the look of the sorcery game (Though the translation of the arm movement was a little weird at points), but I raised an eyebrow at the 'miss-fire' during the Tiger Woods presentation. The release date and price announcement was good, though. A reasonable price, and a whole two months before Kinect is released. Good move, Sony (No pun intended)!
Then they got into 3D! Geez, did they ever pad their time with 3D stuff. This is the least impressive part of their presentation. 3D gaming isn't 'here to stay' yet, guys. Not everyone is willing to sit around wearing chargeable glasses after spending $3000 on a new TV for something so superficial. Especially for something so barely supported. We'll see about 3D in 3 or 4 years.
The PSP? Well first they 'unveiled' Marcus, which is just the PSP squirrels put into one obnoxious kid. Didn't like squirrels, and I don't like Marcus. Poor marketing, and, again, it's a handheld. Not for me. Unimpressed.
Beyond that, the only big announcements were PSN Plus and the new Twisted Metal. And only Twisted Metal was a surprise. Great for fans of the franchise, not so amazing to me (Never got into it. Admittedly: It looks like it could be fun). Everything else was 'Exclusive content' for cross-platform titles, which was rarely elaborated on. Was it a whole new level or area, or just a hat my character can choose to wear? Either way: 'Shrug'. I liked seeing the new footage of the cross-platform games, though nothing even remotely made me think 'Man, I really need to get a PS3'.
Microsoft:
Maybe it's just because I own the console, but I was far more interested in what was going on here. Gears 3 (which looks sweet), Halo: Reach (which, even though I'm not a huge Halo fan, also looks great), Fable 3, Metal Gear Solid: Rising (And it's bitchin' cutting mechanics), and I'm interested to see what 'Codename Kingdoms' will be all about.
As for Kinect itself: I like it. Yup, I said it. I love the navigation aspect for the dashboard, and I love the potential for hard-core games. The Forza demo did it for me, when they showed the guy looking around upcoming corners. That would be incredibly useful. I just hope, as this is a concern, that they allow a symbiotic controller scheme. Meaning: I can drive with my controller, and look around corners using Kinect. If they allow that type of controller enhancement (not replacement), I think Kinect will kick ass 5 ways from Sunday. Leaning in FPS games, looking around corners in racing games, hand-signals for military sims, RTS control enhancement...it's all open to the developers to use. And I hope they do.
For what they showed, though, I like the look of the Dance game. Dance dance without the big pad? Sign me up! Also, as someone who already works out at home, I liked the fitness game. Not for the 'hard-core' I guess, but I really did like it. I think it would be a great enhancement to my current work out routine.
Over-all, I think all three presentations had ups and downs, but Microsoft's was, to me, the better of the big three.
