Sony would've won if they hadn't annouched everything before hand and if they had shown some new Last Guardian footage.

But I'm gonna have to vote, Nintendo. Wich is weird because I hate Nintendo, but the stuff they've shown actually makes me want to get a Wii, maybe even a 3DS.

The only one I saw was Sony nd Ubisoft and I watched them live, so I voted sony. Besides, Gabe Newell+Twisted Metal+Kevin Butler cannot be a lose

Most of those games Nintendo put out are basically remakes with a minuscule amount of more stuff, new scenery, and occasionally a new story. But mostly its just the same thing over and over again, and everyone is just throwing away money, instead of replaying "The Legend of Zelda" August 22, 1987 or "Super Mario Bros." March, 1986 both for the NES. Nintendo has made gaming history, no doubt about that, and they do sometimes release games that are fresh and new, but they just keep milking the franchises and people bought Wii thinking, "Oh cool! Motion-sensor technology! Imagine the possibilities!" I too did this, but realized that Nintendo made this, and knew it was gonna be a waste of my time and money.

Number of releases for Mario & Zelda. (May be off on the numbers.)
Worldwide releases & Across all consoles.
Mario Games: 215
Zelda Games: 127

Congrats to everyone who voted Nintendo...you are part of the problem! Nintendo has a licence to print money, because they are a nostalgia factory that sells you your childhood for $50 a pop.

Has anyone played GoldenEye recently? It sucks. It was great at the time, but it sucks now. I see everybody talking about "How great Nintendo's conference was", but it was absolutely horrid. Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong....am I listening to an E3 from the NES days?

Sony, who put on an amazing show with technical innovations and IPs that haven't been around since the early nineties (or earlier), gets almost no hype because all we hear about is "o_O NEW ZELDA!!!1". Screw Nintendo, screw the fanboys, and screw Zelda. Thanks for ruining E3!
Pretty much my thoughts. You could have scripted Nintendo's show 5 (10?) years ago and got it mostly right. New Mario sports game? Check. New casual Mii title? Check. New Zelda? Check. New DK? Check. Etc. Just because it's been a couple of years since the last one doesn't mean it's amazing or shocking to see a new one especially when the new one looks exactly the same as the old one. The only thing that saved Nintendo's show for me was the 3DS which does look great.. but is even the unveiling of a new/upgraded handheld a big deal for Nintendo given that they do that every year or two too?

I would have loved to see more new content from Sony too, but they just had a full slate of solid looking titles that we haven't already been playing for 20 years now. Plus the exclusives they announced were certainly big if you're someone who's still on the fence over which system to get (or whether it's worth getting a new one). Sony's only real big issue was lack of personality.. why didn't they just have Butler run the whole thing because everyone else was coma inducing.

MS was just.. well, fail. And I'm a big 360 fan. They blew their whole load on Kinect but still somehow managed to fail in showing it as anything other than an interesting interface device suited completely to a casual experience.

None of the shows were zomg amazing, but to me there's no question Sony was the best this year.

The big three conferences are over, and whew - what a ride! Sony announced the much-anticipated return of Portal 2 and Twisted Metal; Nintendo gave the audience a hands-on with the new 3DS; and Microsoft sent everyone home with their very own new, shiny Xbox 360 Slim. Which conference impressed you the most? What are you most looking forward to?

The only things truly notable were Fallout: New Vegas, Portal 2, WH40K Space Marine, Fable III, and Dead Space 2, none of which were Nintendo. Who on earth is voting in this poll?

*okay, one possible exception with the new Golden Sun but that demo filled me with a resounding "Meh."

Does anyone seriously find trash like the Kinect relevant? Or remakes of games which are not actually remakes because they're entirely different and just have the same name. Furthermore, you shouldn't be excited about remakes anyway for the reasons outlined by our own Shamus Young right here:

Based solely upon everything I've heard and seen about the Nintendo 3DS, I have to say NIntendo

so many nintendo fanboys here. no one mentioned the playstation move! (ok not that exciting) but still every zelda game has become the same gather 20 hearts kill ganon by now. I would have to go with playstation since i was most impressed with their conference.

also i do like nintendo but i was hoping for something new maybe not a new zelda game possibly isn't really new it was expected (though i am a bit excited to play it if its true but don't be shocked if its a huge teaser like FFVII so don't get your hopes up)

Voted Nintendo because a lot of people said it was good, I missed it myself. Sony and Microshaft were pretty horrid, truth be told. I'd rather pick the lesser of two evils even if I don't have any of their systems.

Kevin Butler, Portal 2, Steam on PS3, Twisted Metal....why isn't Sony winning??
Portal 2 (although it will be out for pc, and probably xbox360) and Twisted Metal (not my kinda game, but a great one, nevertheless) were great. Kevin Butler has nothing do with games, so his presence, for me, was irrelevant.

The ones saying Nintendo is doing rehashes, may I ask how many Zelda or Mario games have you played recently? The plot has been same for years, but to say the same about gameplay?
And which new IP's did Sony and Microsoft announced?

My summary.

Microsoft. Started of with shooter demo after shooter demo. I know that some of you guys like this sort of thing but I was very bored. They then went on to media hub stuff and I was even more bored. They then introduced something called ESPN. These "ESPN" people seemed less awkward and more entertaining than the rest of the show but for some reason I didn't understand a word they said or what they were about. The rest of the show was a comi-tragedy Natal demo. This was all pretty bad from my perspective. I can't pretend otherwise.

Nintendo. New Zelda looked a bit odd and the demo was terrible but it still looks good. Donkey Kong Country and Kirby were great announcements. They looked fun and had amazing presentation and polish. Reggie was really doing a great job as master of ceremonies basically showing clips of games which was great antidote to the stiff presentation and fake live demos that Microsoft inflicted on us. Epic Mickey was better than expected but the real bombshell was Iwata introducing the 3DS.

Sony. I was sort of mentally run down by the time this conference came round. Lots of demo reels flew by. They talked about things I don't care about at all like selling me 3d TVs and PSP. A ropey looking Harry Potter meets Fable game was shown and it was strictly B grade material like everything move related. Killzone 3 was, well, another shooter demo that I found boring apart from the fact that it had jump jets which reminded me of Mechwarrior. Ah, better times and better games. Some funny man spoke for a while in the middle and made jokes about how bad Sony's competitors are while seemingly oblivious to the problems with Sony. Twisted Metal, I dunno, many people like this but it's no Last Guardian.

The 3DS launch title list was such a bombshell that I didn't really expect. Everyone might be focused on Nintendo's long-standing IPs, but Nintendogs + Cats having owner recognition, and the pets react to strangers? I thought that was really neat and I'm glad to see that Nintendo is really refining their pet sim for the young kids who aren't old enough/don't have the space/are allergic to pets. Not to mention the 3D camera, and analog stick that's in a better location than the PSP, and adjustable slider for the intensity of the 3D effect, and NO GLASSES. I mean, they just packed everything they could into their handheld and I can't wait to get my hands on one.

AND there's a Pilotwings revival. You know, that game that disappeared after the very beginning of the N64 days. I can't wait to dig into that one, alongside Star Fox and Shin Megami Tensei (if this is a remake of the original SMT, anyway).

Microsoft had the infamous Star Wars incident, which really takes away from the Kinect's credibility for gaming, and the Move was similarly unimpressive with that "done before" vibe. Even though I'm jazzed for the 3DS, I couldn't care less about 3D on consoles because of the HUGE money sink that is. Twisted Metal made me twinge with nostalgia, though, so I would place Sony in a firm 2nd place over Microsoft's lackluster offerings.

Well, Microsoft did seem to have made a very impressive show, but really, Nintendo wins.

It kind of seems like while Microsoft and Sony are trying to impress everyone with high-level hardware, while Nintendo took the idea of 3d and innovated, creating an impressive implementation. And to top it off, they also announce some games that are bound to make their fans salivate.

If you need more proof... Have you seen the latest Penny Arcade strip?
